Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Actually you can, star wars is a prime example. Going from cute furry teddy bears to the redemption of ones father all in the same movie. Need I say more....

But I will. Gundam 00 had plenty of fanservice, though admitly not as crazy as Code Geass. And I don't feel it distracted from the storyline.

edit:

*smacks face with palm* Why didn't I think of that! Nice thinking Juu-kuchi. Full Metal Panic is a perfect example of suscessfully jumping between extremes. Its just a storytelling tactic and nothing new. Its meant to put the view through an emotional rollercoaster, jumping from lite hearted episodes to more serious moments in sometimes even as short as a the blink of an eye.

Still bitter about the most epic cliffhanger of all time?

The point is, the writer himself said that Lelouch is dead. No R3. No stupid side-show. It's concluded. Done. Move on, he isn't immortal. Taking away the death would cheapen the ending, and for what? Really?

As for who's driving the cart, it's just some guy. Lelouch is not the only character in Geass who has black hair.

EDIT: The source for the interview is Issue 42 of the magazine Continue. The death list is here, in Japanese:

Anyone notice that Nannully was hold the trigger to what I assume is a borab in the preview. Man, Lelouch neeRAB to get orange-kun to geass her so she can literally see the light.

Yeah, no taking this show seriously. Its a train wreck and your watching it to see the epic crash.

Wow what an episode. What is Leloush going to do now, he has no allies except for CC who doesn't have any memories. I thought he was going to go insane, but it appears he got back his sanity at the very end.

He definitely could, although whether he and Suzaku will cross paths is a pretty big if. Also he is presumably taking orders from V.V, who may see the Geass command on Suzaku as something better left in place regardless of how he feels about it.

I had a laugh at that at first, but at the same time, I don't doubt it was done on purpose. Lelouch has a definite flair for the dramatic, and with a month between defeating his father and him claiming the throne, he probably planned it down to what he and Suzaku wore.

Plus, it looks like we'll be getting plenty in the way of garish outfits next episode, anyway

I don't remeraber Ninjas ever recorded to use Spears. Granted some of the Chinese/Japanese Spears can be flexible and quick, but they aren't easily concealed. They stuck mostly to katanas, but you're right about the kunai/shuriken info.

Her mother? Japan's independence? Rumor has it the real reason Kallen fights Britannia is that they destroyed all of her G Gundam merchandise. The power of G compels her!

*insert obligatory "Shining FIIIIIINNNNGEEEEERRRRR!" reference*

"Haha Suzaku, your self righteous pretension is no match for my machine's hair!

"The truth is, LeLouch...my secret goal has always been collecting the world's most retarded stuffed animals."

Gino: ...Oh. I guess we're dead.
Anya: I'd do something useful, but I'm too busy text messaging...just like every other episode.
Schneizel: Don't worry my knights, everyone knows the writers will bail us out at the last minute.

A comedy only Geass season wouldn't sell for the simple fact that Geass' attempts at comedy make Tim and Eric's Awful Show look like Monty Python's Flying Circus. FMP on the other hand, had characters and writers able to tackle this wide spectrum.

Let's not judge yet. Maybe Charles and Marianna story is not over yet. I have a feeling they will be back in the last episode. They might see the error of their ways, or at least make it up to Lelouch by bring Nunnally back from the dead. Or maybe even bring back Nunnaly and Euhphie back. That would be the ultimate pipe dream.

But seriously though, I doubt we have seen the last of them in some way or another.

Yes, Lelouch has saved the order time and again. But he's also committed a lot of sins in the process. Arguably, for instance, there was no need to sacrifice the JLF. But he did exactly that specifically to make the Black Knights Japan's last, best hope so that he could control the entire Japanese rebellion for his purposes. Any loyal citizen would be ticked, let alone a rebel soldier. Lelouch is definitely not indifferent to injustice and we see that time and again, but it's telling that he often put his own goals in front of doing right by the people that were loyally serving him. Look at season 1. From our point of view going after Nunally at the end wasn't even a choice for Lelouch, but that decision left the Japanese hung out to dry.

Lelouch believes in justice, but neither his motives nor his methoRAB are completely pure. Can we balance his desire for serenity for Nunnally and himself against everything else that he's done for its sake? The sad truth of Geass is that Zero the hero is incompatible with Lelouch the brother. The big question that's left is whether a nominal good result can be achieved in spite of that, at the end. Charles must be defeated, and the legacy of Geass must be brought to an end.

Okay seriously when is the Albion getting here?

EDIT: Oh yeah. I like Lelouch's full Geass but...I don't know...I mean I know Charles had it in both eyes too, but when Lelouch has it, it just looks like he's using Amaterasu or something.

Yeah, and to be honest I don't think Lelouch knew either. I get the feeling he died with the intention of really dieing, because it was his first time being revived and I doubt he had planned for that to happen. I don't think there was a way of knowing he had became immortal before hand. Or maybe he did? I'm kinda slightly puzzled. I'm still waiting to watch (should be able to in a few minutes), but from everything I've read so far, most of the evidence points towarRAB only those few people knowing that Suzaku was under the Zero costume and knew the truth. Nunally receiving Lelouch's memory's is even more incentive towarRAB the fact that he's alive. Also, I think Lelouch had mentioned the Zero Requiem in front of at least Lloyd, so I'm guessing that they had some idea of what it entailed.

since the episode is out, I don't know if I still need to spoiler tag this all or what.

YOU try and be civil when I've been hiding that I'm a leader of a rebellion that's going against the government you work with and killed your girlfriend.

What I'm saying though is that Suzaku still has a LOT of baggage, and as usual he has to get it out somewhat and all that. If this is going to be a thread that's going to crucify me for TRYING to understand Suzaku I might as well leave.

I actually liked the first few episodes of the second season (I might even say the first half of R2), but then I generally agree with the sentiment that Code Geass was getting progressively worse. I guess I didn't mention that.

I thought you guys might find this funny:
