Technically, Ignorant people can make anything bad.

So claiming patriotism is bad as a whole just because ignorance can warp it, is false logic; by that benchmark, ANYTHING and everything is bad.
 
That's a good question. I'm going to have to say no since it seems like this was the planned ending all along. If season 2 happen as planned I imagine there would be no Rolo and Susaku and Kallen would have gotten more development.

Opposed to gundam where eppy after eppy shows the aces own all the grunts. It gets predicable. In code geass you actually wonder if Lelouch is going to win while in gundam your like, hey, its the gundams so no need to worry since their invincible untill the final eppies where all bets are off.
 
Hm... If that's the merabership sign-up, think of the garden parties where their minions intermingle with one another.

Shinn: Hey I did what I could, the Destiny was an unstoppable war machine until I made the dick move to try and stop TWO beam sabers with them!
Kallen: But I could withstand a sword attack with my death hand with my upgraded war machine and YOU couldn't!
Shinn: Well I did what I could! You act like I'm such a disappointment to people who kill other people with robotic death hanRAB!

Watched the episode, but I still keep everything that I said before viewing in regarRAB to my opinions on the matter. Rolo's death was terribly sad.....and everything else made me angry >_> But honestly I felt so bad for him. I don't care that he wanted to kill Nunally, that ending scene was worthy of a few tears. I never really hated him either...disliked him sometimes yes, but he pulled through for the person he loved. [When Lelouch initially yelled at him I felt SO bad. I've seen scenes like that many times before when reading yaoi. I had a mental OH SH-]

Kallen basically seems to have lost her entire subplot about her family and why she became a rebel. I mean, season one clearly went into this and it was explained to be a key reason she sided with Zero. Then season 2 starts and she alternates between fanservice and a Gundam homage. It's a shame, especially because Kallen is one of the more credible characters.
 
I took the ending as Lelouch vi Britannia is indeed dead, but Lelouch Lamperouge is still alive. L.L.->R.R.->R2 and all that theorizing and whatnot.
 
So that may explain the 4 year timejump in 00. Manlier Meisters, Manlier Men, scantily clad women, and all the rescues they will have to do.

However it probably also explains Destiny as well =\. But I digress.
 
Wait. Wouldn't that be the reason she'd live? Though some are saying that killing Dorothea is racism lol...

And I think that the Lancelot is rather cheap also, but luckily, we don't have the 2 most powerful Mechs siding together, allowing for awesome battles.
 
CC losing her memory is one of those decisions I'm currently lost on. It's relegated her to a useless, mousey character that has no idea what is going on. Why was it necessary to do this now? With all the useless, cliche characters already floating around, a mostly useful character had to join their ranks?

In some areas, Geass has my respect for pushing boundaries and being nasty. Killing off a group of popular characters so swiftly could be called a fair portrayal of war where that does happen. It's more honest than a character going down in some glourious focus episode or surviving just long enough to make a pretty speech. Saying "See these important characters? No plot shield for them!" is impressive...but at the same time, I can also see it as another example of the staff's immaturity and falling back on fanservice and out of nowhere plot twists. It could really go either way given their record, but looking at it from the positive side I would congratulate them for such a brutal, unfair yet accurate plot twist. That's what annoys me- there are elements of Geass that are inspired and other elements which stink. If they could focus on the elements that really worked instead of serving up this bitter, multi-demographic cocktail I'd more consistently praise them
