Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Why does this always have to be about 00? Code Geass and Gundam 00 are different shows, why do they have to be compared all of the time? Also, I completely fail to see how 00 did it better, at all...

The following spoiler has events pertaining to 00, don't read if you haven't finished or don't want to be spoiler about certain character(s).
I assume you are talking about Louise, who, was just as rich and just as ditzy, if not more than Shirley. How, in anyway possible, was her tragedy built up better? Because her mommy made her leave her boyfriend? Boo hoo.

And you act as if everyone in the world should be incredibly intelligent. Sorry to break it to you, but ditzy girls exist, ditzy guys exist, not everyone has the same intelligence as Lelouch. Some people are oblivious, what is so wrong about taking that angle with Shirley? It was because she was oblivious that made her fun to go with, and in the end she finally resolved herself, she finally realized her feelings for Lelouch and even though he was the result of her father's death, she still loved him. And the point of Ashford is supposed to be a bit unrealistic, I fail to see why they have to take this amazingly realistic angle.

Oh, and about Shirley's father and the impact it made on Lelouch. I think you missed the point with that. Lelouch, up until that point, had gone through the stages of his rebellion thinking that everything was fine, he didn't realize until that moment that he is the cause of people's deaths, or if he did realize it, he didn't realize how severly people are affected by his actions. Ultimately, he had to make a choice, to accept his actions and go forward, realizing that people will die, he would kill parents, and grow up out of his dream world. I think GWOtaku said it best with the C.C. quote, she directly challenged him, I thought it was good development of Lelouch.

Yeah CC got her memories back. Marianne is back, sort of. I am starting to wonder and more interested on who Anya truely is. Is she even human? If Nunnally is dead, than bring Marianne back to life, could the goRAB give Leloush a break?

The Black Knights are starting to realise being used as pawns is not so bad. They can't find any leadership without Lelouch.

This episode didn't have much action, but it sets up the next episode which will have lots of action. It went by very fast for me, which means it was a good episode.

Lelouch and Charles stuck in the Sword of Akasha forever. Until the next episode at least. LOL

I thought this song fit oddly well with Code Geass, and while the AMV isnt "ZOMGBESTEVER", I wanted to post it because I think the creator did a really nice job, especially with summing up the last episode [in regarRAB to Lelouch]. There's a couple great scenes in this too

I think the only time that he was really sincere about coming clean with his sins, accident or not, was at the shrine with Suzaku when he admitted that everything was his fault. He needed to take that blow to rebuild the frienRABhip, and it only backfired because the idiot-patrol had to show up and ruin it. He probably figured it would be easiest to take blame regardless. But come onnn Lulu. At least tell SOMEBODY what actually happened ;_; the badrap sheet will only get worse. He really is his own worst enemy.
But I think he acted that way in front of Schneizel [all arrogant and crap] only because he couldn't show any sign of weakness. As much as I WISH he'd had explained himself earlier, I guess its understandable in that situation considering his brother was in the audience and either way he was screwed. If he didn't keep a stiff upper lip it would be like loosing to a more intimidating force.

you dont need a show for the characters the situations happen to either, that can be done in some text story and you'd get what your asking for just as easily.

besides, apparently they (the makers of whatever) seem to think you do need a show for what im asking for, since it is everywhere.

Eh, the various manga seem to do a good job of that. I wouldn't mind an additional one explaining what happened to Marieanne and C.C. in the past in detail, in the scenario that we don't have this explained by the end.

Two random observations about 19, BTW...C.C's all alone, and Jeremiah was loyal to Lelouch and not so much the Black Knights. Now that Lelouch has been cast out, I really wonder what will happen to the two of them.

"No, Father, I can't support this anymore! I'm going to support the Avatar!"
"If that is your choice..."
"And it's the choice of a new generation" *chugs bottle*

(this is strangely bizzare, given I don't watch Avatar really )

GOD, they love to pay homage to sunrise's other big mecha show....

EDIT:

OMG, I just read random curiosity. I did not see that happening. I did not see that happening. DO NOT SPOIL THIS EPISODE! For the love of god don't spoil this episode!

On the upside, two worRAB:

KALLEN RETURNS!

I'd argue that Gundam 00's OP's put almost everything to shame, so perhaps it's an unfair comparison.

I thought 02 actually did just as good a job matching visuals as Colors. Take the beginning with C.C. and LeLouch, then cutting to Suzaku and V.V. and the Emperor, and the end when LeLouch is putting on his Zero costume.

See, I told you so. I still think its possible they were designed independently of each other, though, and I hate to think that they'd rip off a Gundam just for the sake of it. Lancelot's not really the same thing. In any event, needless to say, Gundam Virtue would steamroll that thing.

To rephrase, no one would correctly confuse the two. Patriotism can certainly be misunderstood and abused, but fanatical nationalism is nothing but a distorted form of patriotism. Like many things, patriotism has been been used for both good and evil in history. Balance is needed. Some people think patriotism means unrelenting "loyalty" no matter what, some think having pride in your country and your identity is an arrogant vice that's never appropriate. Neither are right.

My guess is he'll build a base of support in China, and then he'll try to pull a miracle in Europe to get the EU on his side. That may not be too far off, as the show seems to be getting ready to use Schneizel and Nina.

I doubt it means anything at all.

The sad thing is, the sillier the show gets the less drama we can have when Lelouch is in a pinch.

Lelouch: "So there I was, surrounded by an armed group of Britannian soldiers I had already Geassed. My life hung in the balance. I needed a way out...so that's when I led them all in a conga line!"

It should be going crazy because Nunally looked pretty hawt in that outfit

BTW a bit more on the Ougi as PM thing. It's not really that surprising, I think maybe other then Kallen nobody else in the Black Knights realizes just how inept and how much of it really was Zero. The outside perception is because of where he was placed by Zero and the authority given that he's a very capable leader.

Infact didn't Lelouch on that little strength/weakness chart of his have Ougi ranked pretty highly?
