Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

*Suzaku wakes up. He has an aid make him breakfast. As he goes to take the toast, he drops it. It falls butter side down*

"....LEEEEEEELLLLOOOOOUUUUUCCHHHHHH!!!!"

(He he...)

Whilst I can understand that suggested gay pairings is a form of fanservice, I have to agree it's in a different league to the likes of what Kallen is being put through. Since the show came back about the only moment of respect she's had is that little Gurren display and that was when they were showing off a new mecha variation. I seem to recall Cagalli briefly becoming decent again the first time Destiny wanted to push the Akatsuki. It's a case of a character only getting highlighted because they're pushing the new design sponsors want you to buy.

It's not a problem just with Geass, but R2 has been horrible for this stuff. The fanservice has become far from subtle and all it does is take away from the characters and story. Certainly any remote interest I had in seeing what they did with Viletta was dead after the episode where she struts around in what looks like the offcuts of a napkin and some lengths of string. The Ashford episodes are the centre point of this. It's like the writers want us to think they're pushing some deep moral dilemas and then BAM! wacky fanservice ahoy! At this rate Kallen might as well be just a floating pair of breasts and CC a floating butt. The show doesn't seem to have any respect for its female cast. Before anyone says Cornelia, that went out the window when they animated a DVD extra with her being asked to wear an S&M bikini designed by Clovis. Honestly, are the writers 15 years old? "Ok, so we have this deep plot to stage and...oh no...come on, focus, focus....no good! MUST ADD FANSERVICE!...Oh yeah, that's hot!"

I think the show has been inconsistent on Lelouch. They can't seem to stick with if he's leading a genuine revolution or if this is all a global farce to make Nunally happy.

I'm not quite sure Lelouch would set himself up as the new head of the empire. Then again he seems to have always lived something of a privelidged life even in exile and I'm sure he realises the massive power vaccum/civil war he faces if the empire isn't handled carefully. Lelouch's strategy actually mirrors his enemy, except he's declaring a United States of Japan rather than naming it Area 1. He seems to plan to 'conquer' region after region until he has enough force to wipe the empire out. Though I'm sure that brings its own troubles. Easy to win support when you're the underdog. But as he gains more power, people will scrutinise him much more closely.

Oh yes, its like a dream come true. Hello little kitty.

And why can't
Orange-kuns geass work on C2? He can cancel geasses so why not C2 or was it something else that wiped her memory?

Comparing Jeremiah to children raised by the Cult is ridiculous, he may have been altered by them, but he wasn't raised by them, and has shown to at least be able to think for himself, these kiRAB don't. Who is to say these kiRAB can't get attached to someone like Lelouch? I'm just saying you shouldn't feel bad for the kiRAB, and then go and wish death for Rolo when they are just as much trouble.

Thats what I said but better worded, and I was going to post that video but you beat me too it.

Remeraber that Mao's geass also didn't require eye contact. See, Mao had a reason to be in the show besides proving my favorite quote thats in my sig.

Not many know this, but V.V. has a penchant for McDonald's

Completely out of nowhere question: This is to add to my list of questions this show neeRAB to answer before the end. Who is Rolo contracted to? I mean unless V.V. can put out two Geass' however unlikely that seems.

EDIT: I found the rest of my questions

It's the whole marketting angle which seems to be killing any real creativity. Once an anime becomes a suprise success, in dive the execs. Certainly you'd be lucky if your female characters come out of that with any dignity. But then, we all know women are just meat to be oggled or wait around for a big brave man to come save them

See, I'd like to see it addressed. Makes a change from the 'Suzaku and Lelouch hate each other' one track story. There's a story to tell with Kallen, including what happened to her brother. But it seems the staff only care about her cleavage. Is it wrong to have strong, confident females?

Because Charles didn't...

Geass her. It was the sword that did it, but Lelouch made her stop, she became a mortal finally. Also, I believe that V.V. died, or was on the verge of death, because since Charles became an immortal that meant that V.V. had someone to fill his position and become mortal again, like the Nun and C.C. Plus Bigdeath, that would be a huge cop-out. While she will get her memories back, obviously, I'm thinking if she interacts with Anya or something, it wont be through those means, maybe this time Lelouch has to kiss her? Who knows.

Oh I understand Lelouch's reasons for keeping secret how Euphie died but that does change that it makes him look like a cold blooded kill in Susaku's eyes.

Besides, these characters are intresting because they don't always make the right choice, they are flawed characters and they have to deal with the consquences. If Susaku and Lelouch didn't have their shades of gray then Code Geass would lose a large part of its appeal.
