Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I sure don't see Charles as innocent. The problem with Charles is that he decided the world was broken and basically swore it off, deciding to do what it took to make sure that his insane little plan come to fruition. He probably figured that humanity was irrevocably flawed as it was, and therefore reform would've just been a temporary solution that wouldn't solve the underlying problem. But that excuses and justifies nothing, and just makes him out to be what Lelouch knew he was: a massive hypocrite who was only interested in pleasing himself by changing everything according to his will. Completely unlike Lelouch, who chose to sacrifice to help the world make progress. Writing about this as I am now, I suddenly appreciate a lot more Lelouch's line about accepting the so-called "Geass" of the world's wishes.

You think after 10 or 20 years history scholars in the Geass world would start to come up with ideas about how and why Lelouch did what he did (minus knowing about Geass, Charles insanity, Arthur, etc)?

To Lelouch.

Suzaku, another person who got to experience the World of C I believe around 12 or 13 of the first season of Geass in some strange ironic "No I don't want to save him" kindof way.

I agree with this.

It's pretty clear to me that Geass is supposed to mirror Western imperialism, but not necessarily represent the modern world (though it can be argued that there is still heavy imperialism perpetuated by Western nations...but this is not the place to get into that...). And seeing as how Western imperialism, historically speaking, is fact and not fiction, I'm not offended. There is some hyperbole involved, but really, this is a cartoon, so I never really expected a complex explication of the effects of imperialism in the first place.

As for racism, though power has historically been the driving force behind imperialism, factors such as race are used for its proliferation. After all, after you achieve power, you need to find some way to hold on to it. What better way to do so than to claim that the subjugated peoples are inherently inferior? The racism from the Britannians towarRAB the Japanese in Geass is obvious, but that's the story of imperialism for ya.

Anyway, back to the show itself...the first episode was boring, I still hate Suzaku, and I can't wait to see Zero back in action.

Oh, she'll be stealing that Guren Shouten Hakkyokushiki soon. She'll be doing a lot soon.

This episode appears to show that Nunnally has really bonded with Kallen. I suppose that's a good thing.

Problem is, this is one of those Sunrise shows where most people are sheep. So it'll probably just become an accepted fact that Lelouch was exiled prince who clawed his way to the throne and lashed out at the world over his exile.

id rather have it be that simple, "shows like this" are not suppose to be about the romance, theres no need to put in some complicated romantic development that makes sense, itd take up too much time (and itd be boring), especialy since the only reason stuff like that is put in is to cause conflict thats either interesting, entertaining, or will make characters wanna kill each other, theres no reason to go further than "i have boy parts, you have girl parts....ROMANCE!" as you put it.

To add to my last episode comments...

"And so, Jeremiah spent the rest of his life in bliss picking oranges with Anya."

...

"Wait, what?"

I mentioned nothing of what may happen next season. I just said that just like Shirly, they may do something in season 2. Unlike season 1. Unless its a spoiler they are in season 2?

So now any other anime shall be offered no respect to the Herculean Exemplar that is Geass in regarRAB to spoilers I see.

But you're still talking about things that have already happened in Season 1 that people who watch Geass but do not watch 00 have yet to see.

Compared to other various crack pairings they seriously lack in favoritism and availability. He just isn't suitable beside Lulu. On the same note I'm still waiting for Rolo's development. We barely know anything about him other than the fact that he has a geass and looks like a 12 year old.

but he is not going to free Japan. He will still have to obey any command of the emperor or risk losing his position.

And I'm sorry, but being a benevolently dictator still makes you a dictator. Its like saying someone wants the US to have a benevolent king instead of a democracy. A king no matter how "nice" is still a dictator and that is not freedom.

I like Suzaku, honesty. Its just that unlike some fangirls, I love to hate him.

But I'm willing to compromise. I'd be happy to wrap Suzaku in chains like in the ED and send him to you to do as you wish. As long as he is removed forever from the Code Geass story.

Ah, isn't it great how Code Geass can get fanboys and fangirls together to fight over their favorite Characters.

Hellcat:

I would not be surprised if good old chuck is letting Lulu live just to test him. After all, if you watch the first episode of season one then you'll notice in the scene where Lelouch gains his geass that it shows the emperor is aware that lulu has gain the geass. So the Emperor has known from the beginning who Zero is and has been letting him live this whole time. If nothing else, Zero provides an excellent test to weed the weaker elements from the empire. As the emperor himself said at Cloivs' funeral, death only proves the empire is evolving, ever becoming stronger.

Yes, its from darkmirage and so is the one about zero's horns. I didn't even notice that when I watched the eppy. Must watch it again.

I bet Rollo's geass is to mind freeze people in battle for a few seconRAB. His mech is not teleporting , hes just freezing the minRAB of his opponent for a few short secs. Very useful in battle. I suspect next eppy he will use his geass to slip past the Chinese swordman.

I see very little of the "real robot" genre in new mecha shows.

When I think of "real robot" I think of Votoms or Patlabor. Atleast in those shows the robots can't fly at the speed of light and sword fight like a ninja.

*Grurable, Grurable* Damn kiRAB these days *Grurable, Grurable*
