Rebates

Yea those things you get at the store when you buy pricy things, companies who are supposed to honor them don't even send money back for the specific rebate.

US Robotics didn't do it

ADS Tech didn't do it

Norton didn't do it

and Bell Mobility didn't do it either

fuckin' greedy bastards just want peoples money without honoring their rebates

yeh... usually you have to read the text carefully becaues unless you meet all the requirements you ARENT eligible for a rebate. this happened to me. there was a 30 dollar rebate on norton security 2005. it cost like 60 dollars originally and i needed a new version or to register the old one so i bought this. i installed it and went to put the rebate together and i read the instructions. one of the requirements was proof of purchase of another norton antivirus product. or proof of ownership of one that came iwth your computer. well since i just deleted the old version i couldnt really get it. i think though, that i just went to my other computer and used that version as the proof and i got the rebate. but my point is sending in an envelope with a receipt and proof of purchase stub isnt enough for a rebate in most cases.

I could not agree more! Fuckers! Just lower the price don't tease us with some bullshit maybe, maybe not, thing. I've had the same thing happen on the 2 rebates I've tried to collect.

That's why the offer them. A rebate makes a product look cheaper than it really is and the companies know that for each $ value of rebate what percentage of customers will actually fill the thing out. It's trully sad but a $20 rebate has less than a 5% return rate.

80% of the people by the stuff because of the rebates yet less than 5% of them will actually use the rebate.

That's why it's so damn hard to fill the forms out. The more complicated it is, the fewer people actually take the time to do it.

in that case bitch enough and theyll give you what you want. this usually helps if you are a lawyer, however, any other powerful job title does tend to help you.

90% of the time the company relies on it being too much trouble to get the mail in rebate.. you gotta have your receipt... proof of purchase, send it all out with some sticker or another and stamps and go to the box and slaughter a goat over the mailbox as a sacrafice to the rebate gods... its just too much for most people to get 30 bux back..

those who do mail out the rebate either miss a rule or they just find some loophole to keep the money from you.. or just ignore it... i mean since in most cases you have to send all the origional things(receipt proof of purchase and rebate form) they could just destroy the letter and you dont have a drop of evidence, as well as would it be worth it to try and sue over 30 bux..
