Reassigning the "Home" button on TX to other aps?

In the past I was used to reassigning the hard buttons to other applications. It seems now that the T|X will allow you to reassign 3 of the 4 buttons excluding the "home" button from being assigned to anything but Applications or Favorites. The question is how can I get this button to function like the other three? Is there a hack of sorts that will work on the TX to overcome this problem. This is primarily a problem if using other launchers like Zlanucher instead of the generic Palm launcher, although I must say, it has improved extensively with OS 5.4

Thanks

Careful what you wish for. The stability of the T|X seems to be more easily compromised by hacks than any other Palm handheld I've read about. If you find an app that seems capable of doing what you're looking for, do a complete sync/backup of your data first, then test the app thoroughly before deciding that it's a keeper.

This program (Freeware http://www.payalba.com/) won't show up on your programs screen but will add another feature to the Prefs panel (at the bottom). You can remap ALL the keys with this without the restriction on the Home button.

I've been using it on a TX for some time with no problems. An additional program you may want to take a look at is from www.mobile-stream.com. It too is free and will change the "find" on the touch screen (lower left corner) to a Home button. In addition, if you tap and hold this "home" icon, the last 6 or 7 applications pop up as well as FIND, so you don't lose the find functionality. This application as well has been stable for the few months I've been using it on my TX.

Super! Just what I was looking for. I agree with you leo that the T|X certainly seems to be more unstable than other palm pdas but it seems to relate more to the wi-fi aps that cause the most resets. For example I can't use by 79BMedia.com. Even their newer hacks designed to work with the TX like crashpro or their new beta version of Energy Dimmer seem to cause resets when loading blazer.

Fangle: Much thanx for the "Find" exchange to "Home" suggestion... I've just switched from my T3 to a TX, and not having the Home button where the Find is now located was drivng me crazy!

Side note: So far, I'm very pleased with the TX. I'll miss my T3, but the TX is, thus far (knock on wood), a better machine.
