Reasons against the N95....

Hi, I was thinking as a consumer we have to put the pro's and cons of a new gadget before making a purchase right? Well, We have seen many threads about how great the N95, well about the reasons not to buy the N95?

Use this thread to talk about the not-so-good things of the N95.

Let me start of with a few:
-battery not up to the multimedia features, if the N80 is any indication...WIFI AND gps...BYE BYE battery
-no optical zoom
-SIRF III based gps units are more accurate
-1000+ starting price is laptop category
-no flash in browser as promised (only special app fro youtube)
-No highres screen like N80
-Something better fill follow in september using FP2
 
......but of course...but do you have 30fps video?

.oh yeah...what about wi-fi?....hmm....print quality photos?...hmmm....gps mapping opportunities?....hmmm....maybe you should actually stick with the N93 actually, in all honesty, i would probably give a flying you know what about the N95 if I was using an N93. I would stick with it until the first big fp2 was released or pick up the E90. Nokia should NEVER release another high end phone without at least Quad-band. I know they're going to procrastinate and push US3g way down the road but at least give us the chance to use the phone.
 
I'm still considering the N93i for my next device as well. I love the coverage I've seen about it at ringnokia.com. I don't want to get screwed out of 850 though.
 
I'm with you...850 and I would have pulled the trigger long ago. I love the look, form, versatility. It's a perfect combo with an Su-8w. Even better than the N95 with that killer sitting position. I could bang out some serious emails with that badboy! Oh well...wasnt meant to be i guess.
 
I agree...that's probably the number one reason for not buying one.....the fact that 4 months later we're going to have our eyes on something else. Aside from the E90, i'm sticking with these 2 phones for a while. I'm going to enjoy the n95 for all it's worth...good or bad....
 
lol...I've never been able to use it effectively unless I detach it. After a couple of keystrokes I rattle the damn phone off of it. I hope Nokias next keyboard offers a center position with more stability. I dont mind detaching the thing but something that can be used on your lap would be nice.
 
The more I think about the it, the more I feel that the N95 will be too expensive for me to buy. I think I'll probably end up with the E65 when its price goes down to 360-370$.
 
I keep thinking the same way. Even $800 isn't justifiable to me at this point. I'm getting more than sick of waiting, and I've even begun looking at other brands for better prices.

I'm even tempted to grab an M700 Glofiish and learning everything about Windows Mobile. Yeah, this float period waiting for new phones SUCKS this year.
 
You know, honestly, though, I have to agree. I've been dead set against getting the N95 for a while, then the reviews came out and I was in love, but the more I've thought about it, I can wait. Why?

1. FP2 - devices having FP2 should be out ~September/October. I can't afford the N95 and THEN ANOTHER device in Sept. Granted, I could still sell the N95, but that's still alot of $$ over my N73 right now, that I don't have

2. There's still CeBit, CTIA, and that gaming convention. Three (at least) places for new phone announcements, and Nokia's 3 N-series in debt, after 3GSM.

3. I know you're going to flame me for this, but I'm faithful that we'll see a US 3G s60 from Nokia (other than the N75) this year. They've had just around a year with that new-fangled research center in San Diego, and the Qualcomm dispute will end on Apr 9, for better or worse. I think there's time.

Thus, I'm hanging onto my N73 till at least September. It's a great phone, WiFi hasn't truly come to maturity yet, and there's only 3 devices with built-in GPS right now (N95, E90, and 6110), and I think there'll be more.

I have a boat to spend money on this summer, I can hold out for a few months. Sometimes you have to skip a generation to be able to afford the latest and greatest.
 
Same here. I am leaning towards E65! Only thing that I would miss on E65 is the camera. But I have given up the camera feature on the phone anyways
 
well you can always snap pictures with your New N73ME! already gone is it? I have a feeling Rapolu and Jonny will be on board before most including myself. I'm not putting any money outside of my slush fund into this thing. Just sold off my 770 and E50 and have $915 or so in Paypal right now. If i cant get it shipped for that price then i'll have to wait....or throw some more stuff up on fleabay but I really dont want to. That's my limit I guess. Anything for 915 shipped and I'm considering it a bargain!....i have a feeling i'm going to be waiting a few month though too much hype surrounding this phone and the sellers will take advantage of that.
