Rear shock air pressure

The new frame calls for higher air pressure than before. I run mine about 40 psi solo and two up about 45 and it is fine. I usually check it every morning when on a trip and before riding otherwise, just like checking the oil.

Thanks for saying it. I was also surprised to read what the guys owning 09s were putting in their shocks. Don't they read their owner's manual?
I am 170lbs and she's 130lbs. We ride 2-up 99.9% of the time. I run 45psi in the shocks and it works great.

i normally ride solo but when i ride 2 up with my wife i need to have 40psi or better. any less it will bottom out almost every bump in the road. am considering the progressive 940's for next year

I am 180lbs, wife 160. I run 20psi solo and the full 50psi two-up. Makes a huge difference to the handling and comfort. I bought my zero loss pump from a mountain bike shop - seems to work fine and takes up b@gger all room.

I too found that the dealer had only 20 PSI in my new 09. It bottomed out hard, frequently...

I checked and now I'm running 45PSI and I like the ride, and so does the boss.

I just put the lower SG shocks on my RK. Are the air pressure settings different in the SG manual than the RK? I don't think my ride is as smooth with the new SG shocks, as the stock RK shocks.
