Rear shock air pressure

For protection I carry mine in a bubble wrap sleeve not much bigger than the pump. It has a closing flap on it and I use a rubber band around the bubble wrap to hold the flap down, and carry it in a small drawstring bag.

I reckon a hard box is a good idea for total protection, but it may take up valuable space. How about a small padded drawstring bag? Just send me one if you use the idea.

I am 200 lbs and run 36 lbs in my 09 UC solo. Any less and it bottoms out on our crap roads in Aussie land...

I have the saddlebag under lid organizer http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442292081&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302286949&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302286949&bmUID=1281059679371&bmLocale=en_US. The pump fits perfectly in it on the same side as the fitting.

I use my air compressor. I have a very good regulator on it and turn it down to 50 psi. I could hold it on the shocks all day long and not blow them out. I have checked my readings against the hand pump and no difference. The only downfall is I can't carry my compressor with me on a trip.

Great info in this thread... Picked up the HD pump this week and checked the rear shocks (2010 RKC with 5k miles, I weigh in at 230lbs). Shocks were right at 20psi. Have been bottoming out at rr tracks and dips in the road with full gear on the bike. Bumped it up to 35psi and what a nice change the past few days.

My 09 Roadglide bottoms all the time.

I'll try the suggestions here.

My wife suggests a diet...mind you it doesn't bottom out when she's at home...
