Just buttin here but...I would not use compressor to pump up your shocks...too easy to blow the hell out of them I think.
 
I am 195 and wife 120 and I run 35 psi all the time, even when pulling the trialer. When I first checked it I was running about 15 psi then a buddy of mine told me to run it up to 35 psi and much better.
 
The '08 Ultras only hold 30# max full loaded bike, 25# without baggage. I am 255#, passenger115# and running unloaded with 25# in the rear and still bottoms out. I am not a happy camper.
 
hey jerm21 you really do need to spend the money on the little pump, it has the gauge and an air bleeder with it, and it is weird how it works, it just spurts a little bit of air each pump, and even though it will take up a bit of room in the saddlebag, it comes in a well protected, albeit bigger than need be box. now that's something that needs a hard plastic sort of foam protected box. hmm, good thinkin.... note to self, find out if there is demand for such a product at a reasonable price. retirement, here i come. nice thread, as i am still not sure what psi to run in my 08 streetglide with solo me weighing 200#. lots of useful information in this forum, i'm glad i found it.
 
Whenever I see a thread about shock air pressure, it seems that everybody forgets (or doesn't know) that the 09 touring bikes have different air shocks than the 08 and earlier models. In the owner's manual for 09 bikes, it suggests running 50psi for 2-up for solo with cargo. Completely different from the pre-09's. Running 12psi in my 09 RKC is like running no air at all. Solo I need 40 psi (I'm 290lbs), and 2-up is right at 50psi.
 
I way 73kg (160) and my wife is about 130. On our trip we were heavily loaded as well. I ran 23psi and it was FINE and I certainly never bottomed out and there were some bumpy roads out there, so it sounds like you do have a problem.
 
In the Tri Glide section one of Members Tri leaking oil rear shock. Trike is new he never put air in the shocks. Any one ever run in to this. Or use a compresser to fill there shocks and blow the seal or air bladder. is oil and air in the same chamber or different chambers.
 
I run with shocks at 27 on 07Ultra. Saddlebags loaded and tour pack with additional 8 lb bag. I weigh 238lbs and wife is at 130. This psi range seems to be great. No bottoming out and bike handles well. Anything less than 25 is noticeable.Regarding pressure loss, after a 1000 mile trip on average roads loss was observeed at 2lbs over 3 days. This is one tool that is a must have!
