Rear bicycle wont spin but chain does!?!?

Ok i have a bike im not sure how many speeds i think its 12 idk, but the problem is that the chain DOES spin and so does the thing on the back that holds the chain it just makes a clicking noise like as if i was going backwards? is this simple to fix or replace the wheel?
 
You need to take it to a bike shop and get a new freewheel put on it. It takes a special tool to remove the old one. You can just take the wheel you don't need the whole bike.
 
I think I know what you're talking about. The bike won't coast and you always have to be pedaling. Your freewheel might be shot or just dry/rusted. Take it to a shop on this one, you need special tools.
