Im just so sick and tired of realplayer that bundled with n73. THe video is extremely choppy. the same video that plays perfectly on my sharp 903 cant even play on my n73 (it is the same format) does anyone know any other player besides dvix (cant find converter for that) that works for n73 thats free cuz i dont want to pay extra for a phone i paid 600, which should include a decent video player

thanks in advance

That's correct, it does cost money:

IMO, with the quality of product and LCG's development and support teams... It's well worth it.

As someone already said, Super is a free converter to be used with Divx. There's this nifty tool in the upper right hand side of the screen called the 'search' button. You'll find a dozen threads on Super, SmartMovie, and Divx if you dare to use it.

Dude, Smartmovie is your best option. One click converting, user-defined audio pre-roll/lag, numerous landscape options, picks up where you left off in the middle of a video. For $30 cash or $30 worth of internet searching, you can secure a copy quite easily.

I've tried them all and Smartmovie beats them all hands-down for ease of use and quality. Nothing's easier than dropping your media file in the converter, picking "N73", and clicking convert.

really? what setting do you use to play on real player, i just convert it with avs video convert to mp4 and just play it but its choppy. but SOME very rarely there is one video that plays perfectly

I use Super to convert for my E61, and play it back on either Divx player or Smartmovie. The settings I use make for great quality, with a small amout of tearing on quicker sequences.

you dont have to pay for smartmovie...theres a forum on the net that has all the apps for s60 for free!! too bad iam not telling(some people here might know what site iam talking bout but i dought they will tell, cuse you will get banned)...you will just have to search...

Video / audio encoding that suits a sharp 903 may not be optimal for a N73.

I have a great idea:
Why don't we all just pirate commercial software so that no-one makes any money off of it, and then no one develops new software, and then I can listen to everyone moan about how they don't know how to encode video for their phone, and that there's no longer any software available to do it?

Seriously now, Smartmovie, SUPER, and ffmpeg are good choices.

ffmpeg on a Linux box makes great looking video if you follow the recommendations on the S60 Multimedia blog. And it's really free. It takes a bit of work though.
