Really SICK horror films (stomach churning ones)

There were a series of fake snuff films made in Japan, collectively called the 'guinea pig movies', the most notable of which was The Flower of Flesh and Blood.

It is a close-up depiction of a guy dressed in a samuria costume who ties up and then slowly chops up a girl. It was so realistic that it was often mistaken for gunuine snuff and many people were arrested for being in possession of it in America in the early eighties.

These were probably the most horrible films around (along side Men Behind the Sun, which another poster has already mentioned.) until the 'August Underground' films were made by director Fred Vogel.

The A.U. series are, again, fake snuff films but brought up to date with a sort of Blair Witch shaky camcorder asthetic and some of the most extreme sadism and unrelenting cruelty ever seen. These are films which very few can sit through and even hardened splatter fans usually find them too horrible to stomach.

Funny Games (the original Danish film, haven't seen the remake).

You don't actually see the violence but the cast interact with the viewers which makes it all the more effective.

Audition is pretty sick, especially at the end, but it's deliberately slowly paced to increase the impact so is not for those with short attention spans. :p

was wolf creek the film with the three people who went to australia (?) and their car broke down. then the guy started killing them? or is that something else. i have only seen it once and couldnt remember (but i can't remember any really bad bits in it)

not actually a horror but "oldboy" is quite sick...
esp the bit
where he cuts out his tongue after he realises he has been sleeping with his own daughter...!

:eek::eek::eek:

I just read some of the imdb message boarRAB about August Underground (and the other films by the same director) and I have to wonder why anyone would enjoy watching such a thing. There were even some people talking about wanting to watch a real snuff film if they had the opportunity.

Honestly, where is the entertainment in watching a film devoid of story, that just consists of brutal rape and graphic torture? Just reading about it made me feel sick.

This is not a horror film and is the sickest thing I have ever seen and that was the "live autopsy" with Dr Frankenstein (as I called him real name Dr Gunther von Hagens) CH4 showed, other than that I cant think of anything on film that comes close.

'Hostel' (parts 1 & 2) were sick, and not in a good way.

The torture scene at the end of 'Audition' (Japanese movie) is one of the hardest scenes to watch in any movie I've seen.

There's a scene in 28 weeks later that I had to turn away from, I don't usually mind really gruesome scenes, but the scene where

Dom becomes infected and murders his wife

made me feel sick!

There are some other gorey bits in it though!

Just thought of some films, Switchblade Romance very gory film but brilliant, and the bathroom scene in " Expose" aka "The House On Straw Hill" which is being remade with Martin Kemp, anyway the scene in the bathroom!! also SALO, Tenebrae, Profondo Rosso, A Blade In The Dark and Terror At The Opera( Argento)
