Really SICK horror films (stomach churning ones)

This thread is for really "hard to watch" horrors

not wimpy ones like Freddie and Jason, I mean real hardcore stuff

my favourites are: Wolf Creek, Hostel, Hills Have Eyes

But they're no different to Tom & Jerry or Scooby Doo etc.

You're just watching a cartoon.

The Road Runner is more violent and shocking than Saw, for example.

That rape scene in Hills Have Eyes was just horrible!! :(

I have always found the opening to Scream nasty to watch. The way Drew Barrymore's character is murdered. :(

I taped Hostel recently, have to say that I wasn't impressed. I switched it off after predicting the scene in which he cuts the guys Achillies tendons. It was so boring that I actually did ironing, rather then watch the rest of it. Give me a J-Horror any day, at least they know how to do subtle violence with a bit of flair.

Cannibal Holocaust of course, but only because of the animal cruelty. The human stuff is nothing.

You can watch the original Guinea Pig on youtube I believe.

Hostel & Saw (the sequels impaticular) have a real sense of nastyness compared with other sucessfull horror movies except perhaps The Exorcist or the original T.C.M.

But even then they can't hold a candle in my opinion to Cannibal Holocust,Jungle Holocust and they're clones.
Salo has a real sense of evil throughout that is hard to watch.

World famous movies that I have found stomach churning are The Fly and Hellraiser (Although Hellraiser has dated badly and isn't anymore).

The Japanese horror movies are extremely effective but there are dozens of similar low budget movies from accross the world with which they're sole purpose is to sicken but 9/10 of these are either too desperate, badly acted or terribly made to not view as laughable.

My (joint) favourite film of all time is The Exorcist. Although I've watched it dozens of times, the scene in a hospital where Regan has a needle put into her neck, still makes me squirm.

children shouldnt play with dead things - its an old zombie flick, from the early 70s - probably a bit tame now, but i saw it as a small child and was terrified, not sure i could even watch it now.Just the mounting sense of futility, and the final payback scene was incredible.

hostel bored me to tears.
