really older vehicles easier for someone to steal? say 1987 buick park avenue?

just wondering if theives would steal older cars, and if their easier to break into. and would go for my type of car. (i dont leave expensive shit lieing in it, if i do its concealed int he glove box or something so exclude that)
 
I can't speak for car thieves, but it's reasonable to assume that since they're usually in it for profit, a 1987 Buick is not going to provide much return, making it less appealing than late model cars.
 
An 1987 Buick Park Avenue is not exactly a car that theives would go for :)). They would lean more towards a car that the parts would be in high demand ergo quick cash.
I would also think that anyone in 2009 driving around in a 1987 Buick Park Avenue would be a easy catch for Police...
 
Professional thieves steal cars for value. Something that is fairly popular and can be cannibalize the parts.

Older cars would be for thieves of opportunity. The car would be used for other crimes or joyrides. Only to be destroyed or abandoned altogether.

'87 Buick Park Avenue should be relative immune to theft. But seriously, no car is totally immune.
