I just received an "Omitted Assessment" letter from the IL Cook County Assessor's office. The back bill for 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 is nearly $30,000. (Plus interest penalties.) I did not own the property for two of these years. Any advice on dealing with this huge tax bill would be greatly appreciated. I am new here and this is only my second question. Thanks for helping me.
