Re: Permanent nerve damage

How do you know if your nerve damage is permanent? Because my pain level has been 10+++ for 32 days straight, I am afraid I will have permanent nerve damage. Can that happen because I am going through this so long?

Re: Permanent nerve damage

Jff,
As I said to you in your other thread, a pain level of 10+++ means that you need to go to the emergency room. A pain level of 10 usually indicates pain unlike any you have ever experienced before, and you would be near dead if it has gone on as long as you are indicating.
We can't hazard a guess as to whether or not your nerve damage if there is any is permanent or not. Most doctors can't answer that question, and we as laymen have even less ability to do so.
These are questions that you need to ask your doctor.

Re: Permanent nerve damage

having lived through a broken back, I know that you would have had to have been hospitalized and on a cocktail of pain meRAB that cause hallucinations beyond belief to have had a +++++10 level of pain for that long.

the only way to check for permanent nerve damage is to do a EMG. Not the best of fun, but it is a definitive test for nerve damage.

and i agree with backhurtz....you really should go in and get checked out
