Cases for the defence: Battlestar Galactica(TV) and Star Trek(Film)

Jury's Out: Hawaii Five-O
V: The New Series.

Not Proven: The Bionic Woman.

Any thoughts?!

Cant think of many reimaginings I've actually watched but

Battlestar Gallatica - Frack yes!!

Startrek - Later TNG and DS9 very good. Enterprise & Voyger not so hot.

New Avengers - mmm iffy. Certainly not a patch on the Emma Peel period.

V - pretty poor considering other Sci Fi shows we've had recently.

Reggie Perrin - absolutely not.

Not sure if Doctor Who is re imagined (technically not I'd wager) but it certainly gets a big thumbs up especially compared to the weak & underfunded later old Who.

I did point out the the film in Star Trek's case. By re-imaging I would mean they largely retain the original character names and/or background in some form (even if we have a gender change of some characters in BSG and Five-O). The spin-oRAB are essentially new characters in new situations.

I don't count new Who as a re-imaging. More of an improvement on the production values of classic Who, and a continuation of the character's timeline.
