Re-hit only once a month?

A digital music station is part of a package? I don't mean Edge TV - I mean the actual radio station. If it's part of a package, I find that very strange.

I just noticed this on the Bell site. Is this true? If so, why?

I have a 3100 receiver that was unplugged for months b/c of SW44 issues. I finally tried another SW44 VideoPath switch off eBay and all is well so far.

Bell hit the 3100 in question and all channels came up except for one that is still 'red' (which is not red on the other receivers). I already tried removing the card several times and nothing. It has been a few days now.

Can't they simply 'hit' it again?

Well the re-hit don't matter to me now anyway. The new SW44 setup is acting up again. I had to disconnect the 3rd 3100 receiver.

I find it very odd that the 2 x SW21's I have work PERFECT every time... and once I connect the SW44 VideoPath switch to use the 3 receivers... the receiver connected to the Power Inserter starts saying sat not found after a week or so. When I connect the other receivers to the Power Inserter and run a Check Switch, I get either all x's, or some x's. Cable issue perhaps?

Oh well. Is it possible to connect a 2nd Bell dish beside the other? Will the signals affect one another? That is the route it looks like I am going, short of scrapping and going back to Cable.

Tx.

Yes, of course they can. Are they claiming they can't?? If so, they really are clueless and disconnected.

It's right on their website (unless I am reading it wrong).

The channel in question is 631 (Military Channel). Just the one 3100 receiver that it shows in red still.

An adjacent dish won't cause any problems as long as they don't block the view of each other.

You could use 4 of those little DTV-34 multiswitches and then use 4 SW21's.
If the SW44 is so problematical, there are alternatives.

Or an additional dish, depends on aesthetics.

Try doing a hit using the automated system (1-888-759-3474) It's annoying, but might work.

Not trying to hijack, but what the heck is a "hit"??

Reason I ask is because I have a 3100 that has been sitting in a closet because the tv it was hooked up to died. When it eventually gets replaced that 3100 is to be used on the new tv.

On a related note, I have this Quad LNBF sitting here. It says Dish Pro on the front in black lettering, 110W/119W on the sides, and AK74-S on the label.

Will this work fine on 3100 receivers? Also, how reliable are these quads with the built-in switches?

Thx.

DishPro & DishProPlus (DP & DPP) technology are NOT OFFICIALLY supported by Bev, that said, they due work because of low level code created at Echostar where they ARE supported in Dish receivers.

It should work just fine on your 3100.
In my limited experience with that product, they seem to work well.

Because of the frequency stacking technology employed, ensure quality coax and connections.

You'd need 2 of these.
Connect each of the 2 LNB ports to the 2 sat inputs on the switch, do the same for the other.
These switches turn a dual output LNB into a 4 output LNB.
Then the SW21's combine the 2 LNB's together and are selected under s/w control.

Then using up to 4 SW21, connects 1 port from each multiswitch to the SW21's. Run check switch and you have replicated an SW44.
May be more reliable.

Could be a bad switch. EV supplies Dishnet brand. I've also used MicroRoyal. Never had a problem with either. Both are powered with an external power supply.

The 2-SW34 plus 4-SW21 switch solution will probably work but I doubt that it will be more reliable. It will also be more expensive than an SW44.

can you not go to Bells' website and sign into your account and click the Synchonize programming button?

the hit to synchronize your programming once a month only relates to using the website or the automated phone system. so if you synchronize via the online website and you try to do it again within 30 days, you won't be able to do it again until 30 days are up. ditto for the automated phone system.

csr's can hit it as many times as necessary.

Could well be more expensive depending on what parts you might already have for sure.

Let the Internet be your friend while shopping, I found an eBay store in Edmonton that had $30 items for $10 and still do.
First class, no greed there.

It could only be more reliable because NO power inserter is required, that may be a plus or a minus, depends.

If it fails, It's unlikely the whole thing would go, so you can repair it by pieces as opposed to being totally off the air.
