Re: Boosting itnernet connection an adapter, what to look for?

"My computer is in the basement in my room and our router is upstairs. So at best i'll get 2 bars. I can't run an ethernet cable down to my room so thats not an option and i'm using the computer's built in wifi thing.

So what are some ideas to boost it without getting a ethernet cable or moving my compter closer?"

That was my original questions, and the answer was to get an adapter but i dont really know what to look for in adapters or if an adapter is really the right option because the router box is like 50 feet away at most. Also i only need it for this 1 computer.

Another thing is that the connection from the router isnt bad like we have a computer in the same room with it, and it gets great strength. Its just the strength to my computer in my room.

Going to repeat this because a got a few answers like this before;
1) I cannot move my computer closer
2) I cannot put an ethernet cable from my computer to the router
3) Preferably i'd prefer nothing that requires me actually having to go change my router set-up like plugging my router into something else.
