RCA 5 Disc Changer Stereo?

I have a RCA 5 Disc Changer Stereo, when I play CD's in it, it will play the first few seconds of a song, then skip to the next, and sometimes it will even skip to a different CD. I know the CD's are not scratched, and I have cleaned the inside of the Disc Changer area. What could be causing this?
