"There are three major models of the RAZR2: the V8, V9m and the V9. All look identical with the exception of the V9, which is 1.4mm thicker. The major difference between the three models are their capabilities. The V8 is a basic GSM phone with EDGE capabilities, and will be sold via conventional retail channels. The V9 supports HSDPA 3G and has video calling and features like "See What I See". The V9 is planned to be released by AT&T in Q3 of 2007. The V9m is similar to the V9, except that it supports EVDO, and a number of its specs have been downgraded, the most significant being its processor runs at half speed, and it does not include Crystaltalk?. However, features such as an e-book system, major subway maps in South Korea, and an English dictionary are still present. These phones are not affected by the recent ban on importing phones with technology by Qualcomm."

With this, said what would be a better choice, the V9 from AT&T or V9m from Verizon?

I'll most likely be using it for music and DUN and maybe bluetooth if i decided to buy a dongle.

I mostly want a balance between plan and features.

I think the first step is deciding which carrier you would rather have, AT&T or Verizon. Check out the plans and coverage maps and see which one you would prefer and then you'll have your answer.

As for the raw differences of the phones, it basically comes down to the UI that is incorporated into each one. Besides that, the overall feature set is pretty much the same.

this should be a no brainer, the GSM version of the RAZR2 will be better, especially if the cdma version has verizon's UI on it!! Also the GSM version runs java apps like english dictionary, google maps, etc. etc.

I'm not to knocking CDMA technology, because it's so widespread in North America that you are almost guaranteed quality coverage especially if you factor in EVDO wireless data, but GSM offers you so much more choice in terms of unlocked phones. Personally I think having the choice of not being locked to the phones of a specific provider puts GSM over the top, so yeah go for the V9.
