Just wanted to verify that this is still working.
Using Generic Monster on Verizon v3m.
lol actually this was done using dialup on vista

Using RD General to setup the EVDO parameters. (Market Is Pittsburgh PA)
MMS 1x doesn't work. So this may be why I was able to do it.
On speedtest.net got (350/110) Goin through San Diego
As far as tether setup, There doesn't seem to be anything special that neeRAB to be changed as long as your using the Generic Monster that is everywere here.
Ironically, I wasn't able to get it to work in windows xp. I'm sure Its the driver I had loaded.
Perhaps someone that has this working could post what driver they used..
When I get to work I'll post the driver that I used in vista.
Should be possible in Linux/MacOS as well just need to disable a few options in their dial up clients.
As always don't forget to put your proxy info wap.mycricket.com 8080 into your browser settings!!!!

Can you explain the EVDO Parameters? Cause thats where no one wants to explain things. I kind of need this drawn out in crayon or something. I have searched this forum and no one wants to share, but you seem to have it working...I am just trying to figure out what EVDO Parameters I need to set...Thanks.

Hmm, now i wanna activate one of my V3M's to see if it works in Denver again. Was working for a few weeks, then i switched to a Vogue and shortly after that everyone was complaining it didnt work as far as EVDO/Tethering/MMS and such working with a EVDO PRL. Now if you can, thats great, i can quit flashing these razrs with the V3C monster and go back to the generic lol.

As far as speed tests, im lucky to get 250 down and my upstream is usually around 100k.. all i can say is cool, hope it works in Denver again lol.

Nice Job!! Glad to hear its working.

It has been my observation that on flashed phones with working 1x, you need to find where the evdo authentication data is stored and set it to the correct cricket values.
Of course that only works if you have active evdo in you market. I know its worked in Pittsburgh and a few other markets for quite some time before it was official. So its always worth experimenting!
On the treo you have to modify the data file under nvm folder. Since nvm data on a centro is locked that's why evdo doesn't work on that unit. To my knowledge no one has figured out how to unlock the folder. Hopefully some one will figure out how to edit that. Perhaps it can be put into sleep mode in conjunction with randomwit's cable may be the answer.
Razr is the same story. As long as you setup the connection in qpst and select simple ip. You use RD general to setup the evdo username/password.
I had an issue with the proxy setup that's why my mms doesn't work. It seem that I can have either mms or evdo. Can anyone verify that mms can be sent over EVDO or does that require 1x to be functional. I am having a simliar issue on U740 converted from verizon to cricket.

I have never really worried about MMS...even though I do send my mother some Ringtones of her favorite artist so she can have those since her bluetooth will not get connected to my ringtone maker like mine will via bluetooth. But when I set up RSD and looked at the EVDO tab and then wrote, read phone...and it showed nothing, that's when I decided that I would go ahead and put my information in the tabs and see if it would work and what do you know it does. I am waiting on Christmas to pass to get the cable from Randomwit unless I can find it someplace cheaper (might just make one myself considering the cables will cost me about 45 dollars in all (if that). So hopefully I will get my 700p working the way I want it too and I'll be set to go.

Thanks for the help Alexns.

He means he has a bluetooth dongle, and he's got everything set up to work via a tether, kind of like you can tether with a usb cable. Only this time is a bluetooth wireless device.

Great! I've been searching for this info and didnt find a lot.

How can I do that? Do I need a special firmware? (I'm with telus mobility in canada but didn't find any thread about this subject)

What do I need on the other end? (except of bluetooth of course).

Thanks!

On your PC, you need to set up a Dial Up network.

Then you need your put mdn (the phone nuraber that you give people to call you) @telus.ca or .com ( I don't know which, since I never dealt with Canadians.), and then put in the password (which is probably telus). Then click to connect. But you will need to have Web with your plan. I don't know how telus works with there plans.

Alright, thanks a lot.

Last questions, what's about the 1x-EDVO. Is is working at great speed or not..?

And, can the telcos see that it's not in phone browsing and charge me for the data? (I mean, except of the webplan)
