Rawhead Rex: Zone Horror

Clearly Zone Horror lost the toss and now it's their turn to show this gem.
British horror at its finest: soap opera production values, actors from Father Ted, muppet monster, one bemused American lead and an Irish setting so depressing that it makes you realise why so many went to the US.
Even with so many strikes against it and its failure to capture the sheer ghastliness of Clive Barker's astonishing story, I still love it.
What possessed the late David Dukes to appear in it isn't known: maybe he fancied a holiday abroad.
George Pavlou, who seems to have disappeared and pulled the hole in after him, actually manages one great shot of Rex bursting out of his prison and then reverts to the pedestrian style of his other masterpiece, Underworld, whose only saving grace is its incredible cast, all of whom look as baffled as David Dukes in Rawhead.

Wow. I watched this film well over 15 years ago, and remember it being so bad, it was good!
Can't remember a thing about though, apart from someone asking someone else if they wanted a cup of tea, and they replied "go f*ck yourself" :D
