"Rave Master" on Ani-Monday Talkback (Spoilers!)

You know, what is it with the Oracion Six and surviving explosions? Julius survives a barrage of shots from tonfa blasters, Sieg Hart's explosive entry looks like it blew them away but it didn't. I mean, what the hell?

So, how many flasrabroadacks were added to the dub anyway?

I admit I never expected Rave Master to make it all the way to the end on Ani-Monday.
I thought the ratings would be so bad that it would get dropped after about two months.

So either people were actually watching it or Siffy had nothing else to replace it with.

I'm still mad that Street Fighter II V got axed but Rave Master, with a much inferior dub, was allowed a complete run. Boo-urns.

The (hopefully) first blow of vengeance for 25-1/2 weeks of torture has been struck.

Our good friend Don_East has put up a review of the first two episodes of this compost heap of an English dub.

I hope this continues, especially with Mr. BROCCOLI ONION ICE CREAM himself just around the corner.

Could there actually be a dub so badly edited that it makes 4kiRAB look, dare it say it...GOOD?!!

If such a dub exists, than I'm pretty sure that Rave Master could be a likely suspect...

Wow, King dosn't know when to give up. I guess his rage does run deep.

Wow, an anime which admits that even frienRABhip can't solve everything.

These were interesting episodes. I have to say that Gale had a really weak death scene there. Sure, he was able to bond with Haru, but he also caused him psychological damage by dying right on top of him. After going through that extremely long arc and finally taking down King, he could have lived or at least had a more emotionally painful death scene. As for Shiba's origin story, it was interesting how he acted like he really cared about Reisha, even though he barely knew the girl and talked to her on-screen like maybe twice. The way they turned her name into the Rave Stones was kind of weird too. Hopefully, next week will be more interesting or at least more enjoyable to watch because of the weird dialogue.

I'm almost surprised that I stayed up to watch these episodes. I forgot with how the monster designs look so weak and with how blood is apparently black in this universe instead of red. Yeah, that was kind of weird. I did like how Haru was so determined to find his father. I didn't think that Haru's father and King would have the same first name. That seems a bit too weird.

I had a feeling that people would like Musica stepping on Griff like that. I have to say that I liked it too and I consider him my favorite character on this show, even though I felt like that before that scene. Shuda coming back to help the others was cool, but it does make you question how on earth he could have survive that huge fall.

Even though Gale abandoned his family to fight King, Haru is still willing to fight with him. Hopefully, those episodes will have some intersting aspects to them.

Wow, a lot of hate for this show. I like rave master. Its retarded but then thats nothing new in anime.

Last night's first ep showing wasn't too bad. I loved Elie's "hot springs" sequences! She looked gorgeous!!!

I just hope Light Lucario doesn't get too angry with me that I said that.

"The Shadow Guard has become a gang of thugs and bullies."

Thugs & bullies who sing barbershop quartet songs, threatened peolpe with BROCOLI & ONION ICE CREAM, and just be ineffective.

Once again, the comments about the show prove more entertaining than the actual material.

*sigh* This show completely wastes the actually excellent character designs with sloppy animation, mediocre plotting, and bad writing. There were some very awkward reused images used in episode 4 in particular that I don't think I noticed the first time on Toonami either.

I don't know if he should do the entire series (it was long enough watching it regularly!), maybe up to the whole Thunder Man fiasco (incidentally, that was all that was ever released on DVD: the first episode up to the Sound of Thunder three-parter and then it just stopped. Must've not been selling very well, can't imagine why....)

Also, even though I say Naruto's second movie is far worse than the third, I still liked your review of that one, Don_East. ("SHABADABAAAAAAA!")
