"Rave Master" on Ani-Monday Talkback (Spoilers!)

Here we go again! Tonight, Ani-Monday brings us two more episodes of entertainment. Perhaps not for the intended reasons necessarily, but there it is.

Last week, elder Musica worked on repairing Haru's Dekaforce Sword while young Musica infiltrated the evil Lance's hideout in an attempt to rescue Elie. During the reforging process, elder Musica reveals his guilt over the fact that Lance murdered the blacksmith's family with the sword that he had crafted for him long ago. Musica begs Haru to use his reforged blade to defeat Lance and shatter his sword for good, and Haru heaRAB off to battle.

Meanwhile younger Musica easily dominates Lance's minions, but suffers an unexpected wound against Lance himself. Thanks to Lance's shadow stone, he has the ability to call forth mystical beasts to attack his foes by surprise every time he swings his blade. Lance turns to finally execute Elie, but Haru arrives just in time to carry on the fight.

Unfortunately, Lance's surprise attacks soon have Haru on the defensive. But just as the battle takes a turn for the worse, elder Musica grabs Lance and tells Haru to run them both through in order to win. Haru doesn't want to sacrifice the old blacksmith, but time is running out. He must make a move.

This story arc finally concludes tonight. Here's the schedule:

12 AM: Release the Beasts - Part 5
12:30 AM: Breaking Out

"The conductor just said 'We're all bored' but I'm pretty excited!"

Oh great. Dub song plus flasrabroadacks. Make me feel worse, why don't you.

DON'T YOU DARE FLASrabroadACK TO WHAT WILL AFTER TONIGHT BE THE SECOND STUPIDEST THING ON THIS SHOW!!!

I agree with you. I'm not sure if I thought that the script was really lousy when I first watched this show when it was on Toonami, but I might not have given it much attention. Even though the dialogue is extremely odd throughout a good portion of the episodes, I just see it as more hilariously bad than just simply bad. I just watch the episodes now just to get a nice good laugh and so I can understand what people here are commenting about too.

Now I know why they added those flasrabroadacks, to make up for time.

They cut Griff's flasrabroadack to the times he peeped in on Elie in the bath and when she gets dressed.

"I peep in on her in the bath, peep on her when is changing, I even try on her underwear." That is a funny line that they cut.

Rave Master continues. Last week, Lance was finally defeated at Haru's hanRAB. Though the group quickly left the scene and avoided detection by the shadow guard's army, their commander observes Lance's shattered shadow stone and realizes that only a Rave Master could accomplish such a feat...

Tonight we have another standalone episode, and the start of a new saga. Will the jokes get less bad? Well the next fight be at least somewhat more interesting than before? Will Musica ever get tired sharing his name with an old guy? Will Toon Zone's cool upgrade get in the way of our mirth?

Such questions notwithstanding, here's tonight's schedule:

12 AM: A Bite to Eat
12:30 AM: The Sound of Thunder - Part 1

Jest aside, I believe "sound of thunder" was when I quit the Toonami run. So who knows, perhaps it will get better if I exercise more patience.

Perhaps.

With all these bad lines, drills, and Ellie's silliness, one can turn this show into a drinking game.

Wait, does Pi- I mean Biss remind you of that one villain in Trigun with the gaint drill?

"Where's some soda and a bag of popcorn when you need it?"

Oh right, this was the character who made the "unleaded dragon" joke.

"I'll guess you'll have to deal with me, right now."

I'll deal with Reina!
