I would think that most films are "love-it-or-hate-it" while the remainder are just "whatever... ". The trick is that everybody fits in a different category for each film. I hate less films than anyone I know, including honeykid, who claims to only hate two.

I'm working on getting my top 100 ready here pretty soon. It might take me a while longer to get it all settled, but I made it now just to prepare

18. The Departed

Frank Costello: I got this rat, this gnawing, cheese eating ****in' rat and it brings up questions... You know, see, Bill, like you're the new guy. Girlfriend... Why don't you stay in the bar that night I got your numbers. Social Security numbers. Everybody's ****in' numbers.
Billy Costigan: Is there something that you just wanna go ahead and ask me? 'Cause I'll give you the ****in' answer, all right? Frank, look at me. Look at me. I'm not the ****in' rat. Okay? I'm not the ****in' rat.

For me, this is Scorsese's masterpiece. Definitely not normally everybody's first choice but I believe he really hit one out of the ballpark with this one. The directing was near perfection in my opinion. You really couldn't have asked for more badass performances from the actors either. Nicholson, Damon, DiCaprio, and Wahlberg all had great performances worth mentioning. This is my favorite gangster movie of all time for sure.

17. The Silence of the Lambs

"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti."

The academy got it right in my opinion. This movie won all the major categories for the oscars in 1991. Truly a chilling movie with great performances from Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster. The movie is aging very well. This movie is everything that you would want from a thriller movie and then some. Simply a masterpiece when it comes to the thriller genre.

16. V for Vendetta

"Remember remember the fifth of November"

This movie sends a strong message about corruption and false politics. It does this by giving us a strong and intense experience of life in the "Land of V". The thing that I love most about this movie is the uniqueness of the film. I know that this is a film that most people either really really like or really really dislike. To me, it is one of the most powerful movies of its kind. I can watch it over and over again and the power of the movie takes me over. Truly a one-of-a-kind movie.

70. National Treasure

"It's a big blue-ish green man... with a strange-looking goatee... I'm guessing that's significant."

Fun adventure movie. Quite honestly, these are the types of movies where I think Nicolas Cage does a great job. I also enjoy the rest of the cast with Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean, and Jon Voight. Is the movie cheesy? Yes, but I think that the concept is great. The sequel actually wasn't that bad either.

69. Transformers

Ironhide: You have a rodent infestation.
Sam Witwicky: A what?
Ironhide: [aiming cannons at Mojo] Shall I terminate?
Sam Witwicky: No! No! This is a chihuahua. We love chihuahuas.
Ironhide: He's leaked lubricants all over my foot! Hmmph!
Sam Witwicky: He peed on you? Bad Mojo! Bad!
Ironhide: Bad Mojo! Ugh, my foot's gonna rust...

Michael Bay's only good film in my opinion. I was very saddened by how disappointing the second one was, but I really did enjoy the 1st. Is it a great movie? No, but it is one of my personal "favorites". Mine as well call this one a guilty pleasure, for what it is worth.

68. Sin City

"I love hitmen. No matter what you do to them, you don't feel bad."

I was absolutely blown away by the artistic capacity of this movie. And imagine this, I am not a huge fan of Bruce Willis or Benecio Del Toro, but I absolutely loved this movie and heck, I even thought they did a terrific job. Just one of the best shot films I have seen so far. The movie is very violent but it makes it entertaining all at the same time. This one is a must-see for everyone in my book.

67. Ratatouille

"This is me. I think it's apparent that I need to rethink my life a little bit. What's my problem? First of all, I'm a rat. Which means, life is hard. Second, I have a highly developed sense of taste and smell."

Don't mean to be going Disney crazy, but the screenplay for this one is fantastic. The story seems so simple, yet it works for so many reasons. You can just see how much time was poured into making this movie into what it was. It's a cinematic masterpiece and one of the better animated movies that I've seen from Pixar (save for a couple other ones, of course )

66. Happy Gilmore

"The price is wrong b***h"

If I am looking for pure hilarity, I don't have to go any farther than this film. Sandler has better movies but I'm not sure he has more memorable lines than in this one. When you like golf like I do, it just makes the movie that much better. After all, when have you ever seen a golfer use a hockey stick as a putter. This is the movie that made me like what Adam Sandler's movies have to offer, which in the most case is non-stop laughter. And of course the fight with Bob Barker is pretty epic as well.

35. Casablanca

"Here's looking at you, kid"

Realistically, probably one of the best movies made of all-time. It seems to hold up well for its age too. The story is riveting and the acting is solid all around. Filled with lots of memorable quotes, this is a movie that will always be looked at as one of the best. I have to believe that it is both Bogart's and Bergman's best performances, though I haven't seen a lot from Bergman. Easily the best movie of the 40's for me so far as well. A remake to this movie would be completely unjust in my opinion.

34. The Hangover

Alan Garner: Hello. How 'bout that ride in? I guess that's why they call it Sin City.
[awkward laughter]
Alan Garner: You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!

Every minute of this movie has some sort of laugh involved. I wasn't sure that a movie like this would be my cup of tea but boy was I completely wrong. They really couldn't have picked a better cast for this movie, with a lot of comedy up and comers chosen. The dialogue and improv to this movie is just great. The story was a little bit out there but that is the true fun to it. To add to my enjoyment is the setting of Vegas, since I love that place. Overall, if I'm looking for a few good laughs this is always one of my best options to turn to.

Hahaha nicely played TheUsuaSuspect....nicely played...

Would be looking forward to seeing it!

I think people should "reserve" page space so the lists are all in one....haha too many lists have the countdown everywhere xD!!

Yeah, it's a surprisingly decent film. I dunno, I expected it to be below par even though it's Craven and Cillian. I think it was knowing that it was supposed to be a horror/thriller type of film with a 12 rating, I guess it had me a bit worried. But it turned out to be pretty watchable in the end.

15. Crash

"It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something."

The overall story of the movie is what makes this one so great. It is really different from the norm that we see how so many people can be connected in so many ways. There are many emotional and powerful acts in this film that it really becomes hard to keep track of. The all-star cast of bullock, dillon, cheadle and pena among others is a major plus. Every actor is on their A-game for this. One of the more thrilling and provocative movies that I've seen.

14. Deja Vu

Claire Kuchever: What if you had to tell someone the most important thing in the world, but you knew they'd never believe you?
Doug Carlin: I'd try.

I have to first off give the movie a major plus for originally and creativity. I'll credit Tony Scott for that one. So what if the central ideas to this movie aren't exactly realistic? I still love this movie. I understand that a lot of people don't mainly because they think that it is uncredible but I have to beg to differ. Denzel Washington also brings his A-game for this one and this has been one of my favorite since I've seen it for the first time. One of my most watched movies I would have to say.

13. State of Play

"You're just seeking the truth. You're a truth seeker. You can't help it, that is just who you are. You're such a hypocrite. You're not interested in me. You come in here, it's all about you and you getting your story. I trusted you. You're my friend! You were supposed to be my friend anyway."

Another movie where the all-star cast really does it for me. There is something about the story that I really get caught up in, as if I'm right in the thick middle of it. Sometimes I see myself in Russell Crowe's shoes. Speaking of Russell Crowe, fantastic job here. Rachel McAdams is phenominal as well as the short part of Jason Bateman and Helen Mirren. I also must admit that I was a huge fan of Ben Affleck in this one, I really thought he nailed his role. No political thriller has ever been as interesting to me as this one.

92. The Great Debaters

"I am here to help you to find, take back, and keep your righteous mind."

This, along with a number movie to be mentioned in the future, shows that Denzel Washington has what it takes to be a director. The story itself is one that is uplifting, and the actors did their part to make this a good one.

91. The Bourne Ultimatum

"Code it in. We need to be dead."

Just an ultimately great and fun action movie. Some of the best action sequences that I have seen out of any movie. The third of the trilogy did justice to the trilogy as a whole. It's been awhile since I've seen the 3rd of a trilogy be this good.

90. I am Legend

My name is Robert Neville. I am a survivor living in New York City. I am broadcasting on all AM frequencies. I will be at the South Street Seaport everyday at mid-day, when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are out there... if anyone is out there... I can provide food, I can provide shelter, I can provide security. If there's anybody out there... anybody... please. You are not alone.

For a movie in which the majority of it only casts one actor, I think it was one that kept its viewers interested very well. It is a different type of action movie that I think fared well. I think Will Smith was very entertaining as Robert Neville.

89. Driving Miss Daisy

Daisy Werthan: Did you have the air-conditioning checked? I told you to have the air-conditioning checked.
Hoke Colburn: I had the air-conditioning checked. I don't know what for. You never allow me to turn it on.
Daisy Werthan: Hush up!

There are a lot of people who really do not like this movie. But I think it is quite enjoyable. The characters seem to relate to me for some reason or another, as if they are older people that I would know in my life. I really think that Morgan Freeman was fantastic in this movie as well. It's not the fastest paced of movies, but I think it is a fun watch every now and again. Not the best best picture winner but I still think it could have deserved it.

88. World Trade Center

"Don't fall asleep, Sarge!"

This is a movie that not a lot of people like. Some believe it is a movie that came out way too early. But I think it is a movie that while not entirely accurate does a good job of showing us heroic people during 9/11. I thought Cage and Pena put in good performances for this movie, and I've actually got to give Oliver Stone credit for this one.

87. Shrek

"Now I'm a flying talking donkey!"

So easy yet such an original animated set of movies. The first is easily the best of them. Eddie Murphy as donkey is the only thing that is really keeping his career going at this point. Without it, he'd probably be at a complete dead-end by now.

86. Kramer vs. Kramer

Ted Kramer: Hi, what's up? Tell me. What? What's the matter?
Joanna Kramer: I woke up this morning, kept thinking about Billy and I was thinking about him waking up in his room with his little clouds all around that I painted and I thought I should have painted clouds downtown because then he would think that he was waking up at home. I came here to take my son home. And I realized he already is home.

Dustin Hoffman puts together one of his better performances of his career in this one. The emotional impact of the situation can easily be felt throughout this movie, making it a movie filled with emotion and intellect. The movie doesn't seem too dated now either.

57. Wall E

EVE: Name?
WALL.E: WALL-E.
EVE: WALL-E?
[giggles]
EVE: EVE.
WALL.E: [attempting to pronounce it] Eeee...
EVE: EVE.
WALL.E: Eeeee... aah.
EVE: "EVE"! "EVE"!
WALL.E: Eeeee... va?
[EVE giggles]

This movie is truly pure brilliance. In my opinion, this is the one that solidified just how good pixar movies are, and this is probably my second favorite pixar film of all-time. There are some really sad moments to this movie, but it makes you root for Wall E even more. There really isn't too much to say, this is just an absolutely fantastic movie.

56. The Ring

Rachel Keller: I think before you die, you see the ring...

Honestly, this has to be one of my favorite horror movies of all-time, regardless of the movie being a remake once again. There is just something about the movie that is so intriguing to me. I think that Naomi Watts does a really good job of acting, which is rare to come by for a lot of horror movies. I am kind of intrigued by her acting, so I should probably get to seeing Mulholland Drive if I liked this. I initially saw this in the theater when I was in high school and it scared the crap out of me. Not as scary anymore, but rather I think it is still a very thrilling movie with a chilling concept to it.

55. Signs

Graham Hess: People break down into two groups. When they experience something lucky, group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck. Just a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in group number two are looking at those fourteen lights in a very suspicious way. For them, the situation is a fifty-fifty. Could be bad, could be good. But deep down, they feel that whatever happens, they're on their own. And that fills them with fear. Yeah, there are those people. But there's a whole lot of people in group number one. When they see those fourteen lights, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences?

Just an absolutely brilliant film directed by M. Night Shyamalan here. I am really disappointed that since this movie, he has yet to bring out anything even close to as good as this one. For me, this is his best film. I think Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely brilliant in this film and Mel Gibson really was no slouch either. Seeing this in the theater back in the back was a real treat. Just a movie that will give you goosebumps and really root that the family can keep those aliens away. Here's to hoping Shymalan can get his act together and produce something as good as this again.

54. Independence Day

Julius Levinson: Everyone's trying to get out of Washington, and we're the only schmucks trying to get in.

Really and truly the ultimate popcorn flick. This movie has some of the best combination of action and comedy that I have seen. I think that the cast is absolutely great, and really believe that the best of the bunch is Judd Hirsch, who absolutely delivers some of the wittiest and funniest lines in the movie. Of course Will Smith makes the movie really funny and fun to watch as well. Yes, the movie is a bit cheesy, but it is honestly a really fun film to watch with your buddies.

I meant that people either think of it as a really good film (top 100 or it would be a movie that wouldn't even crack a top 400). To me that is a film like Seven Pounds

+ rep for Ratatouille and -yes- Transformers. Do you really think it's Bay's only good film? I think Bad Boys is a good and honest action-comedy flick, and is Bay's best film so far. I really liked the constant banter between Smith and Lawrence.

Marcus Burnett: Hey man where-where-where's your cup holder?
Mike Lowrey: I don't have one.
Marcus Burnett: What the f- w'you mean you don't have one? Eighty thousand dollars for this car and you ain't got no damn cup holder?
Mike Lowrey: It's $105,000 and this happens to be one of the fastest production cars on the planet. Zero to sixty in four seconds, sweetie. It's a limited edition.
Marcus Burnett: You damn right it's limited. No cup holder, no back seat. Just a shiny dick with two chairs in it. I guess we the balls just draggin' the **** along.

actually it may be a tad different when the time rolls around. But I'm sure you know a good majority of it
