Rather difficult riddle?

A man is found dead in his apartment. He comited suicide with a Colt .45. Next to his corpse is a pile of saw dust, and a red clown nose.
Why did he kill himself?
I'd love to tell you the answer, but I myself actually have no idea.
 
the man was a midget clown that was blind. If your blind, you use a walking stick. So when not on the job (circus) he would use the cane. It's common sense. Now everyone knows that it is near impossible to get a job if your blind. Well, unless your stevie wonder. So after a couple of years of using the cane, it started to wear out. It got shorter, making him think he was taller. He knew that the only reason he was in the circus was because he was a midget, and if he was tall, he would have no job, and it would be near impossible to find another one. So he killed himself.
