As we only ever get the first one completely uncut I've avoided the rest of the series since the 80's.

The main selling point of these films was the gory and imaginative ways to kill people.
As many of those scenes were cut by Paramount to get an R rating the point of the films is lost.

Even though the UK has had the uncut Part 1 for many years it was only released in the US for the first time last year so I'm hoping they might do the rest .

Once again in the UK we have Part 1 uncut but Paramounts Blurays of Part 2 and Part 3 are cut again.:mad:
 
I've only ever owned Jason Goes To Hell unrated(don't know if it was cut, but it had the scene in where the girl in the tent is ripped in half by the pole or whatever weapon Jason used), and the remake(sold now, rubbish). Seen all of them but couldn't really get into the series. I'm a Nightmare on Elm Street girl.

Part 7 was cut 2 shreRAB by censors as was part 4,some of the scenes are now on utube.
 
it's been a while since I've seen them all so will get back to you properly on this one but my all-time favourite one was:

Friday The 13th part 3-would've killed to see this in 3D-my favourite F13 character is in this one, Shelley...i also find this one eerie,mainly cos Jason is more relentless and gets his mask in this one

is Friday The 13th 5 the one set in the delinquent teenagers home?i like that one too, its really entertaining!

I've got part 4 on dvd and don't really like that one,the beginning and end is good but the middle just sags

OOo sorry forgot about Jason X, Uber-Jason freaks me out...can see why hardcore fans wouldn't like it though
 
Victoria did u know part 3 was shown on channel 4 in 3d back in march,they glasses came with the papers,yes part 5 is the one with the kiRAB camp and the weird guy with the chocolate bar lol i like the intro to that 1 as corey feldman returns.
 
I only have the original and the new remake. I can't remember much about the rest of them because it has been many years since I've seen them.
I thought the remake was not as bad as some people thought, but with the original, there was a genuine feeling of menace, but that was missing with the remake.
In 1980, I saw the original in a cinema - I thought I was going to have a heart attack at the final scene ! :D
 
I have a soft spot for them all :o

Part 3 is probably my favourite though, Dana Kimmell is by far my favourite Friday girl.

I like 4 as well, it's got Crispin Glover's crazy dance and twins.

Part 6: Jason Lives (this is a lot of peoples favourite but the removal of any nudity or drug use just kills it for me)
 
1. The final Chapter - really, it was the most Friday 13th of the series, and is the most gory, which is what it's all about. They tricked the MPAA into passing more violence than they would have done.

2. Jason Lives - The humour works surprisingly well.

3. Part 3 - After part 4, the most Friday 13th of the series.

4. The New Blood - Although ruined by the MPAA, is the last of the series that "feels" like a Friday 13th movie, the story is surprisingly original, and is totally underrated.

5. A New Beginning - another underrated entry that's loathed because Jason isn't in it but despite that has almost all the features that characterised the early Friday 13th movies.

6. Part 2 - I really don't know why this is considered one of the better ones, it's easily the worst of the early entries.

7. Part 1 - totally overrated, and was never scary despite what people say, and I really don't know why they didn't introduce Mrs Voorhees earlier, because when she pops up it's obvious she's the killer :rolleyes:

8. Jason X - the best of the later movies, but only because of the ironic element and the fact they tried to do something original.

9. Jason Goes To Hell - it's just not a Friday 13th movie.

10. Jason Takes Manhatten - appalling.

11. Freddy vs. Jason - utter shit.

12. Remake - dreadful in every respect.
 
That tent scene was freeking awesome (if I'm thinking of the same one), most of it was implied which methinks amplified the effect. :eek::D:cool:

As for my list, I'd need to rewatch 'em but without question at the bottom would come the remake/re-invisioning 2009 movie, though I'd probably not even put it on the list cos they destroyed the character so much. :mad:
 
Jason Goes to Hell was never cut by the BBFC , although it was rated 18.

Not sure if it would be now.
Problem is that Paramount usually send us the R rated cut which is censored worse in the US than we could get away with at 18.

Warner owned Part 1 in the UK so we always had the uncut version , apart from the years spanning the video nasties scare when Warner released the R version on retail video.

Paramount own Part 2 onwarRAB but up to now have made no effort to get the uncut versions out there .

But I expect a future US Bluray boxset will sort that out
 
Wasnt there also an alternate ending for jason goes to hell? i remember reading about it,i saw a video on utube recently i think it was for part 6 where jason rises from the lake and kills an old fisherman,pretty cool scene,also read that they wanted to introduce jason father in2 part 6.

Only seen 4 films cotaining Jason, they are Friday The 13th 1 and 3, Jason X and Freddy Vs Jason.

Friday The 13th - One Of The Most Boring Films I have Ever sat through, didn't make me jump, did npthing for me and i hate the whole fact that you can't see who the killier is, its rather cheap. Seeing the killier is more frigthning (like Michael In Hallowen).

Friday 13th Part 3 - It's alright, i missed number 2 which it seems like this one starts from. But it was decent.

Jason X - Very Good, it's really different, and i loved how they brang a new aspect to the series. I liked how Freddy Kruger series done something completely different with Wes Cravens New Nightmare.

Freddy Vs Jason - It's Good, but it's not brillant. It's got a good storyline and i like the twist of the two characters faking but Freddy and Jason shouldn't mix and i think what they did was cheapen the series by making out that freddy caused the whole jason thing.
 
Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan is by far the best.

The first 7 are the same movie over and over again. Badly directed with bland, static, still camera work. Part 1 in particular is so badly directed that actors faces are often only half in shot. And what should have been a moment to make you jump (at the end) is ruined by the fact they stupidly put it in slow motion! It's so boring it's actually a chore to watch. And it pains me to say that because I'm a massive horror fan.

The director of part 8 finally did something different by giving the film more fluid camera work, more stylish direction and an enjoyably over the top feel. Kane Hodder is THE Jason and is aggressive in every single body movement. Jason is an aggressive killer filled with hate...and he WILL get you!

A memorable scene is the one in which the chinese girl is running from Jason. She runs into the disco and everywhere she looks Jason is there! He snaps her neck, drops her to the floor and the music stop playing!
