Rate films as you see them...

batman begins 8/10 sometimes bit confusing but really good storyline

its all gone pete tong 5/10 turned it off halfway through got really boring

wotw 9/10 really liked this film and the effects of the robots are excellent

Layer Cake 7/10 not sure what exactly it was i liked about this but i found myself gripped throughout

Team America 4/10 over rated but some funny bits in there, South Park the movie was better

Just some random films I've seen lately, new and old.

40 Days and 40 Nights 2/10
Ugh, pointless crap. A vastly over-rated star vechile in which Hartnett is actually appauling. Terrible story, dialogue and characters. Just hated it.

Trainspotting 8/10
What can be said about this film that hasn't already been said? A very important movie that defined a generation in many ways. Stunning cinema.

Star Wars: Episode III 6/10
Some good moments. But the acting is mostly poor. I didn't like how it was nearly all special effects, it's like the producers were looking for a way to add in special effects and wrote the script with special effects in mind. Never good. A dissapointing end to a dissapointing trilogy.

Bridget Jones' Diary 8/10
A wonderful movie that hits all the right places. Incredibly funny and well written. Zellewegers finest comedic performance and an absoloute master-class in how to have audiences fall in love with your character. Just brilliant.

All About Eve 9/10
Absoloute classic cinema. Davies in a career high and Baxter in her best role. Perfect script, just flawless. It's just a timeless piece of cinema history I am proud to have stepped back in time to see. Also, a show-stopping enterance by Marilyn Monroe! What more could you want...

Breakfast Club - Truly eighties cult pic, loved all the characters, a John Hughes classic 8.5/10

Land of the Dead - Love the Dead series of Romero's, he truly is the Zombie master 8/10

Gregorys Girl - A great film for anyone who has ever had a crush, set in Cumbernauld 8.5/10

Serenity - Very surprised about this movie, loved the action, although I wanted more scenes with the reavers 7/10

Saw - Wanted to watch this before I see Saw II, loved the twist at the end and can't wait to see what Jigsaw has in store for us now 8/10

History of violence - Loved Viggo's performance, William Hurt plays for laughs, a bit far fetched though 6.5/10

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo - Same movie, different country, didn't see the point of it really 4/10

Four brothers - Very likable characters, fighting for revenge, you were rooting for them the whole way 8/10

Monster Man - This B movie has laughs, shocks and gore and is like a black comedy, surprised me more than I thought, liked it 8.5/10

Time bandits - Great idea for a movie, great costumes and cinematography. Terry Gilliam makes a film for all ages 8.5/10

Unleashed - Jet Li, Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins, overactly like mad. You are rooting for Jet Li the whole time, great action scenes with Jet Li doing what he does best 8/10

Cursed - Great idea for a movie wasted, Shame on you Wes Craven 4/10

Red eye - Another Wes Craven pic, not overly long but the ending I feel is a bit rushed, great performance from baddie Cillian Murphy 7/10

Weird science - Another John Hughes pic, great pic about unpopular teenage boys who become popular with the help of homemade Kelly Le Brock, great fun 9/10

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Yet another John Hughes film, can you see a pattern anyone? Ferris decides he wants a day off highschool, great film especially as he is talking to the audience as a narrator 9/10

Narc - 1/10. Boring, boring, boring. Ray Liotta could do a hell of a lot better than this!

Unleashed - 8/10. Jet Li's best English language film, you cannot help but hope Jet gets away from Bob Hoskins who is back to his evil best.

Carandiru - 7/10. Great prison film from Brazil, based on a true story and where you actually feel sympathy for the prisoners and anger at the police for what they did.

Cube - 5/10. Disapointing. I was so looking forward to this and it was average at best.

Cube 2:Hypercube - 6/10. I enjoyed it more that the original - a rareity that the sequel is better than the original.

Zatoichi - 9/10. Kitano is awesome as the blind sworRABman in this remake of the cult Japanese film series.

Dog Soldiers - 6/10. Half decent action film, a few good laughs. A film for a rainy day really.

Taxi - 9/10. French action comedy, very enjoyable and worth buying at

Saw House Of Wax quite recently. Id rate it 6/10. Very slow start but picked up & had some funny/hairy moments & some good effects. Not a film you'd rush to see again though.

War Of The WorlRAB!!!

it scared the shit out of me!!! it was a very good film and did stick well to the book (apart from names and places!!) but with hte aliens and what they did it was exactly how described in the book!!

8/10 Star Wars Episode III: first half hour was boring, but after that, hang onto your seats (especially for Yoda's fight scenes, or you'll roll off your chair laughing). But very good, ties in nicely.

Mississippi Burning - 9/10. Gripping film based on true events. Willem Dafoe and Gene Hackman were excellent in this.

South Park - Bigger, Longer and Uncut - 9/10. I have never been a big fan of the TV show, but the film is excellent. Better than Team America IMO.

It's been a good year for blockbusters

Sin City - 8 1/2 Scary Frodo!
Batman Begins - 8. Though it's a shame the fight scenes were so heavily edited, you couldn't tell who was hitting who half the time.
Revenge of the Sith - 7 (loses half a point for 'Noooooo!')
War of the WorlRAB - 7 1/2 Great set pieces and doomy atmosphere, despite plot holes and a weak ending
The Descent - 8, not a blockbuster but still great seen with a jumpy audience.
