Ratatouille

I saw this at a preview yesterday. Some of the graphics are superb, especially the rats fur. I enjoyed it, I think it's probably more for the older children (and adults) rather than the really young though.

You know, this baffles me. I've seen some pretty decent Disney films dismissed for no reason (imo) and after seeing Ratatouille I thought this might be another one of them films (as it has quite a serious tone in places) and everyone loves it. Go Fig.

(This is in no way a criticism of anyone's choice, just an observation.)

How insulting is it that they feel the need to give you a pronunciation guide to the word 'Ratatouille' in that title sequence?

*sigh*

Looks good, mind.

Well my 5 yr old wasn't too interested, and 2 young kiRAB left with their parents (one crying!!) That said my 6 year old liked it. I guess i'm comparing it to Nemo and Toy Story which I think appeal to younger ones more than this does.

Well, kiRAB will be seeing it.;)

One question though. How come this film has taken so long to come to the UK? Have they added British voices or something like they did with Jeremy Clarkson in Cars?

I'm not normally a fan of animation in the slightest...but that rat is just too cute, plus I like the Parisian setting- so I think I'll be going along to see it, and I'm strangely excited. :D

To be fair DreamWorks have done some good movies like Over the Hedge, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and The Prince of Egypt, but their scoring average is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below Pixar's (their weakest to date is Cars, and I'd still rather see that again than Madagascar or Flushed Away).

Its getting outstanding reviews. I have seen a pirate copy and it did it no justice. But it is an original plot and seemed very entertaining and I am looking forward to seeing it properly when it comes out.

Going to see it on Thursday with my 2 kiRAB, my daughters friend and my niece, for my daughters birthday. The kiRAB are 4, 5, 6 and 7. Really looking forward to it now after reading some of the comments.
