I'm a 21 year old male. For the last 2 days I've been experiencing a rapid heart rate beat. Breathing isn't satisfying me, I breathe like one would breathe just after a workout session. I feel like I'm tired all of the time and feel strain in both my shoulders. All of this gets worse after a hard day of school. I don't know what's wrong with me. What could I have? Pls help....

PS: I've been dieting for a few months, if that means anything....
This didn't come all at once. I've been having these symptoms for a few weeks, but it wasn't that bad then; the symptoms would stay for maybe an hour then go away. In the last 2 days it got very much worse to the point that I'm almost always feel something's wrong and I feel like the symptoms became more potent.

Please,go to your doctor. Bring in a list of what you are eating to him. Gasping for breath could be alot of things. Don' go another day like this.

Make sure you are not dehydrated. In addition, check your blood pressure. Low bp could cause a compensatory increase in heart rate.....Best bet is to see a physician.

Tachycardia, or rapid heartbeat, is the most common complaint associated with the heart and one of the typical reasons that patients seek medical attention. For many normal healthy individuals it is a daily occurrence in response to physical exercise or intense emotion. Any kind of excitement or trauma, even fatigue or exhaustion, can accelerate the action of the heart, especially in overly anxious individuals. Too many cigarettes, too much alcohol, and in particular, excessive amounts of caffeine can cause tachycardia on occasion. Infections such as pneumonia, as well as acute inflammatory diseases such as rheumatic fever, may also produce a rapid heartbeat.
