Usually just after filling up, there is a strong smell of fuel from inside the car. At first I thought it was because we were just inside the petrol station for too long but the smell remained there right up untill the next day. Eventually it disappeared but returned a few hours later.
I got out the car and looked around the grond under the car for any obvious leaking and saw nothing major. I did notice a very tiny puddle (no bigger than a 50pence peice) under the car but this may have been from another car that was parked there as it did seem dry and I waited for something to drip but nothing came. I don't think there is anything dripping from under the car but I read somewhere about the lining of the fuel tank being gone. Would that cause the fuel smell to come through the undercarriage or something?
when I walk around the rear of the car, I do smell fuel. never at the front it seems. Any ideas what this could be?
