"Random" flashes of light in my room at night?

Last night (sunday night) as i lay in bed trying to sleep, there was a sudden burst of white light coming from one side of my room. I asked my girlfriend if she seen it, and she said yes but didnt think anything of it. about 15 minutes later, it happened again. Again, we both seen it. This happened 2 more times within about 30 mins. I had a weird feeling of dread as if someone was in the room with us, and its keeping me awake tonight as well. Anyone shed any light over this? (excuse the pun)
 
Are you sure it wasn't the headlights of a car coming through the window from outside? I just I thought I'd suggest that first. I've heard of some really strange things and ghost stories but no one has described that before. How long have you lived there?
 
its a sign, you should abandon your gf, sell all your stuff go to las vegas play poker and go all in with your first pocket aces
