random chest pain

I get this pain in my chest sometimes. Its on the left side over my heart and radiates into my left shoulder and armpit area. Its really random, and it lasts for about 15-20 seconds. On rare occasions it can last a whole minute. It makes me stop whatever im doing and clench my chest, and i hold my breath because if i breath in, its and agonizing sharp stabbing pain. Once i get a breath through, it goes away. This happens about once or twice a month. I dont know what it could be, any ideas would help.
 
I looked into that, and that usually occurs when you are active or doing something. Mine occurs for no particular reason. Usually when I am sitting watching a movie, or in the car, or reading a book. Very relaxed. and when its gone, its like nothing ever happened, im not out of breath, im completely fine.
