As an aside, I've been using handicapped parking for a few months. I'm recovering from a broken foot, and the walk to class from the regular parking lot at UCSD is over half a mile, but with the handicapped placard I can park in a much, much closer lot. Really, I don't use the handicapped spots because they're ten feet closer, I used them because they're still open, and the closer lot they're in is usually completely full by 7 AM.
