Ramsay

Some points about the format. Apart from the F-Word I haven't watched any other Ramsay programs for a long time as they became too formulaic and Ramsay was just a shouting characture of himself.

Watching this it seemed that Ramsay was more controlled and it made him more watchable imo.
The other thing though is that I hope it doesn't get too boring.
1) cook in the restuarant
2) secrect diner
3) feedback
4) cook in Ramsay's restaurant
5) result

I know you could say it is the same for most/all challenge shows, which is probably why I don't watch those types of cooking programs (masterchef etc)

I live really close to Casamia and for years was a real regular there - when the parents ran it. It was excellent back then - wonderful fresh fish and a varied menu with dishes for all tastes from the dead simple to the very daring. Best of all it had a lovely friendly atmosphere - we always booked the late sitting and usually finished the night off enjoying a drink and a gossip with the parents who actually are a lovely couple and tremendous hosts.

However, I have only been once since the sons took over. It was a birthday do, so we were a group of about 12. The menu had changed radically, and we all struggled to find something we fancied. I finished up with a very uninspiring ragout which I felt I could have got anywhere. No-one really enjoyed their meal and the prices had doubled. Not a great result.

I know several other locals who used to be regulars who don't go near the place any more. Some just prefer more simple, well cooked fare, but plenty like me, like a sophisticated menu but just don't find the new regime good enough for the prices they charge. No doubt they're after a different clientelle, and are doing OK because of the star but it seems a shame so many good customers built up by years of effort by the parents have been allienated.

ok after the deserved results of last week and this week he has earned back the credibility he lost i my eyes when he didn't put the London restaurant through in the Italian week.
