averse culture? The Armed Forces Minister was speaking about the risk averse culture and it's effect on the Forces. Curious that he didn't mention the Human Rights Act and all the other legislation brought in by his Government and their failure for years to provide our Forces with the best possible equipment to defend themselves.

You couldn't make that stuff up, and it's laughable. What an unbelievably rich statement coming from a govt that has shown all the leadership with the guts of a door mouse. They have created their own so-called risk averse climate in this country NOT us, and it's gone right through the entire country at every single level to such a degree that we now have to do risk assessments for virtually every routine thing that we do - especially at work going about our jobs. They have created so many 'non-jobs' because of it but they forget that little fact, and it costs us a fortune...... now those same hypocrites say that WE are too frit to accept the 'risky' deployment of our troops.

They are trying to shift the blame for our losses. Many of our losses in those recent and current wars were due to Liebour deploying forces that had lack of or the wrong equipment and lack of backup. Joe Public knows that. That's Liebour's fault not ours.

He is trying to deflect the criticism Labour have received over the massive failure of supplying front line troops with the correct equipment. We all know you can't do a risk assessment in a battle zone, where terrorists use women and children as bombs.
The true British public have always supported the troops, and understand that we will suffer loses. It is the wasteful loss of lives in situations where troops haven't been supplied the correct equipment is what we object to.
