RAMBO just heard that a new movie of it is soon to be coming out. Come on lets hope not the 1st was great but the other 3 have been terrible. What do you folks think about the series?

:D Don't push me!.Yeah, the original was the best.
I like the Vietnam one as well(2?).
I think there's still a market for Rambo. But it'd have to be Sly playing the part,no-one else.
Maybe Rambo wipes out the Taliban single handedly(standard).
Then that Colonel guy could say to the Taliban leader 'i'm not here to save Rambo from you-i'm here to save you from Rambo.......'.

'First Blood' was a great film. Really a great film.

This was really the first film where somebody was on a cliff face being shot at by a helicopter and had absolutely nowhere to go.

2 and 3 abused the character.

Rambo wasn't a bad film however it is probably the shortest film I've ever seen. I think the closing credits appear at about 85 minutes.

I also think that it's a quadrilogy that's got a bit mixed up in it's naming convention.

I thought Rambo (the last one in Burma) was actually very good. Made a change to see something that was old school graphically violent after years of everything beeing done in CGI.

:D I've often wondered just what Rambo said at the end of the original film.I know it was something about a bomb and his mate with his guts hanging out.But it just sounded like 'mooah, eeeuch, laargghggh, guts, eeeewm, neeeugh, geeurgh bomb' etc etc.I guess it's the not knowing that adRAB to the enigma that is Rambo.

Erm...that's from Full Metal Jacket, isn't it? Don't recall it in Rambo, but I'm no expert.

Rambo films 1-4: Good, crap, crap, good.

In your first post you say that the First Blood was great but the other three were terrible.

In your second post you admit you haven't even seen the fourth one.

Which are we to believe?

Sorry i meant to say the first one was great and the 2nd and three one was very poor in my book. But i have et to see the fourth one yet. Sorry for any mistakes.

I think First Blood is a modern classic.
One of my favourite films.
The second was also good, the third NOT very good and the fourth was just a wall-to-wall blood and guts action film.
I thought Rambos speech to Trautman where he's describing the booby-trapped shoe shine box was very emotional.
The freeze frame on Rambos' face at the very end of the film was well used.

I own First Blood twice on region 1 for the two commentaries that are now available together now on the region 2 dvd.

Stallone's commentaries are excellent to listen to.

So i have first blood , First Blood part 2 and Rambo from 2008 which i was quite impressed with because i didn't have much hope it would be worthwhile making given his age now.

I don't own part 3 though , I don't rate it high enough to include in my collection.

The last Rambo film in 2008 is actually brilliant, after years of PG-13 "action" films, actually seeing a 1980s pure violent fest was just great, I admit it was fun watching it, and the time went by real quick, if there is one thing Stallone knows, it's what the fans want and like with these franchises unlike certain others *looks at Terminator and Die Hard*, you should really see Rambo, it's better than than Rambo 3 at least so if you've put yourself through that you deserve to watch this one!

By the way, Rambo NEVER says "Don't push me".
He says "Don't push IT. Don't push it, or I'll give you a war you won't believe".
Earlier in the squad car with Teasle (Brian Dennehy), he asks "Why are you pushing me ?"
Maybe this is where the confusion (?) arises !
