Just a week to go till its release,
Cant wait to see it but have a dreadful feeling it will go the same way as rocky balboa and ruin the originals legacy,

The trailers look good but i dont think it will be the same as the original 3 rambo movies,

anyone else looking foward to it?

In my opinion Rocky Balboa was the best sequel of the Rocky movies and all (except 5) was of a good standard.

Rambo 2 & 3 were really dumb, one dimensional movies although quite entertaining.

This one looks to have much more depth and intelligence yet keeping the expected violence so it could be the best since First Blood.

No he doesnt but what I meant is that First Blood was much more intelligent and believable then 2 & 3 which were very violent but cheesy.
People expect the violence levels of 2 & 3 but won't take to the silliness of the sequels which were firmly a product of the 80's.
This new movie looks to have the violence but be slightly more credible and not quite as daft.

I read over on imdb.com that Rambo was originally given an NC-17 by the MPAA, something I can quite understand after seeing Stallone's excellent promo reel.

Nothing like an NC-17 certificate to get a good bit of pre-release publicity!

Personally, I can't wait to see it with all it's old school graphic violence.

what i don't get is why stallone chose to title this fourth Rambo movie just simply Rambo. It should have been called Rambo 4 or First Blood Part III or something. it was also dumb to title the sixth Rocky movie Rocky Balboa when the obvious title would be Rocky VI

I think it's something to do with him resenting the fact that he bought out mindless sequels, just for the money, rather than concentrating on putting out better quality movies.

Therefore, with the revamping of the series, he decided to name them in a different manner, so viewers see it as a new beginning. With the name Rocky VI, you'd think "Oh, another Rocky film", whereas Rockly Balboa sounRAB a bit more original.

That's what I gathered from an interview anyway. Just can't remember where I saw it.

I can believe that it was originally given an NC-17. I saw the movie Friday and it's extremely.... EXTREMELY violent. I don't know how it got released with an "R" rating.

But it's a surprisingly good action movie. Plus the film brings closure to the Rambo franchise.
