Ram to Rom

Hi,

I had a problem with a palm T3 I brought off eBay - I think the previous owner had deleted some programmes from the Rom i.e. To Do and Contacts.
I have managed to transfer the files from a working T3 to the not working one using RescoExplorer. However, I can only get the files onto the Ram i.e. if I perform a hard reset, they will be erased. Is there a way to copy the files to the ROM so they are permanent?

Thanks.

I used to use a tool called Jackflash to add and remove things from ROM, there were various versions for different Palm models. Unfortunately the developer (Brayder) has closed down now, but I believe there's a few freeware versions still available online.

I've had a look at Jack Flash, but need to enter a registration code. Since the company no longer exists I cannot get it. do you know where a freeware version is available?

...or does someone have an activation code available for it?

Thanks

Could I change my ID just to allow me to transfer the files to the Rom? I would not normally ask for this, but I'm really running out of ideas! Obviously, I'd have to change it back afterwards to allow me to sync with my computer.

Thanks

You could sync your device with your existing id.

Then hard reset the device - and if byranb was willing to give you his registration code - add a new user id to the Palm Desktop and sync the device being certain there is no data to it. Add JackFlash make your changes to ROM and then hard reset it again after the changes.

Delete the bryanb user from the Palm Desktop - and sync back to your original user name. Most, if not all, of your data would be recovered. Since changes would be made to ROM some preferences might have to be redone but that's about it.

I don't have JackFlash - otherwise I'd offer my code up - never had it.
