Well he was last sighted in My Cousin Vinny in the early 90's so you could be onto something.

I remember sometime shortly after Karate Kid there were rumours that he had some sort of aging disease and he was really 28.

He never looked it, but I suppose it makes sense as he was in the Outsiders and most of the actors who went onto big stars are in their late 40's(Cruise, Lowe, Dillion, Swayze, etc).
