So a few months ago I started growing a dozen or so rainbow coleus plants. I'd say most are around 2ft tall and developed beautiful colors. They're beginning to flower now and apparently will die soon after they do, so I decided to take a few cuttings from them to grow indoors over the winter. The cuttings are growing roots right now and should be ready to plant soon.
My question is, how can I make this next batch "branch" out more. My first batch that I got the cuttings from were seeds from a store bought package and they ended up being really tall (twice as tall as the package advertises them to grow to). I heard pinching can help encourage plants to branch out more so they're "bushier", but I'm not sure how to properly do it.
Any tips and help on how to make my next batch of rainbow coleus shorter and branch out more would be greatly appreciated! Details are especially appreciated.
P.S. One of my coleus plants didn't develop any colors, so it's completely green. Not only that, but the flowers on it are white, rather than the bluish purple of the other plants. Any ideas on how that happened would be nice too.
