Radio Clock Wont Shut off?

I have a 98 chevy Venture, we recently put a new battery in it. It went dead a week later. We have it charging up right now but we just noticed the radio clock light wont shut off...could this be causing the battery problem and how would you fix it?
 
It could, but it would take a long time for a small clock to drain an automotive sized battery.

More likely than not, the issue either has to do with an Accy. wire not turning off when the car is off (could explain the clock staying on), but you would usually be able to tell if this was the issue because something in the car would stay on when it's supposed to be turned off (radio, a/c, lights, etc).

It could also be an issue with your alternator, ignition, or possibly a short somewhere.
