Radiator part on a dodge neon?

What's that part that you put the radiator cap on? there is a radiator hose connected to it.
its directly connected to the radiator
its like on the engine
its not the cap its self but the part that the cap goes on

it has a crack in it but i need to know what is called
please
 
from what you described sounds like the thermostat housing and those will crack real easy if the thermostat isn't tightened up the right way,hopefully that's the part you was talking about,good luck.
