radar detector ringing ka ?

hi, I have a whistler xtr 690, I had it mounted on windsheild and it was on. And all of a sudden it rings KA when i get on the freeway, and it was on full for like 2 minutes, i get off the freeway it stops ringing.
And last night im driving and out of nowhere it starts ringing KA and says pop on it and KA and pop.
Is the thing broken? or what. thanks
