Exactly, all I and any other reasonable person want is the same respect you would give anyone else, regardless of color, culture, class, or citizenship for that matter. The problem is even today not everyone is willing to give that respect, and that is where all this tension lies. One thing that pisses me off though is that whole "if you don't like it you can go back to Africa" argument. Why? Why go back to an entire continent of 3rd world countries when we can just stay and try to fix the problems we have here. Just don't fall for the illusion that there are no real problems anymore just because slavery ended over 200 years ago. As I've said on this site before, racism and oppression didn't exactly end with slavery.
