racial perceptions and the media....?

i watched a program on racial perceptions and i've noticed that alot of these perceptions have been shown on tv shows and movies.

like a black/latina women with loads of kids being poor and has no man to help has been shown in loads of tv shows and movies that children watch.

or in many tv shows after 9 prostitutes are shown as black or asian. or on things like the bill, we see black kids in big gangs and are shown as intimidating.

is it just me, or does the media encourage racial perceptions, especially to people who dont know any other people with different coloured skin and children????

i'm not a racist person remotely and i look at people as humans not a colour.

tv tries to show life as it is,
and stereo types are based on some facts,
if i wanted to do a child molester killing story,
id more likely use a white person.

there is a danger if you show people of any race negatively then thats all they aspire to be, but you cant hide from the facts.

lucky for us whites we dont associate with the kkk, religious right wing christian nuts and others, as we have so many positive people to relate to. so its about having positive icons thats important

but unfortunately if your black you have very little on the media,
stuff like the fresh prince was brilliant.
why are there not more black real leads, black drama's etc..

so i think they they should show the bad, but also show the good a lot more,
