Racial humour...ISN'T HUMOUR.

One of the points the threadstarter was trying to make is that the "Jewish jokes" aren't logical, nor do they make sense.

Someone actually called a math problem "Jewish", in my algebra class today.

Also, in my science class, someone called me Jewish. :thumbsdn:

Wow did you read any of the thread? Just a Q. for ya. See I'm not that bright and even I connected math with money and it was said that they are good with money in sevral posts for several reasons. Besides even if you didnt connect it that, it was also kinda the point, for it to be very stupid and not funny.

As for your joke wow to easy to tell you a better one, BUT see thats not why were here at all if you wanna make a joke thread I think there is something called Games and Humor try it there man.

I share your views on racism, but regarding the mind of mencia; as far as humor is concerned, it gets played out. But you do of course realize he's using satire to make fun of racism right?

What do you call an Arab between two building? Alley

Nah, I know quite a few people from all across the world who I like dearly. One of the engineers i work with is an Arab, a truly sound bloke.

But can you really blame people for being the way they are. Honestly. All we hear coming these days, through the media i night add, is jihad, al'quida and terrorism in the east. With the majority of the nation being shallow, misconception and generalizing are bound to happen; as far as many are concerned, all Arabs are like Saddam Husein. If only they would keep it to themselves.

Read his post again. You'll notice that he meant that he found the concept of someone believing that the color of their skin makes them superior to other people absurd.

Myself, I've quite a few white friends, and a few friends who aren't from this country (USA). We make jokes poking fun at the stereotypes occasionally. It's never meant to be offensive, though.

I also find it absurd that people attack other groups of people merely for being different, but hell, throughout history people have killed because they thought their race/ethnicity/nation was superior to others. But, since people have a tendency to almost never learn from history... well, look at where we are now. There are still quite a few ignorant people around.

Umm, it is just your opinion that racial humour isn't funny. All the people I know ,including my dad, think it is funny. Are you someone who is always like "that is mean!" or "be nice"? I don't like those people in the first place ,so I wouldn't be telling any racist jokes to you.

Nah, I usually don't say "that's mean or anything," I just kind of glare, and change the subject. But I hadn't really thought my argument through; I was just angry at the time I wrote it. Some - very little - racial humour is funny in a circle of friends. It's when people call everything "Jewish" or declare a "Jihad" on every little thing; that's when I get annoyed.

Alright, my best friend is Ecuadorian and where I live (L.A.), EVERYONE thinks he's Mexican. So we make Mexican jokes about him constantly. This gets harder and harder to not repeat the same joke. I have learned from this: Basically any action, statement, or idiosyncracy can be flipped into a stereotype, for any race.

I think off-color jokes can be funny. I think the problem starts when people stop joking and take themselves and others WAY too seriously.

Definitions of Jihad on the Web:

# is an Arabic word that means "striving in the way of God." This striving can take a number of forms, including the daily inner struggle to be a better person. However, jihad is often used to refer to an armed struggle fought in defense of Islam.

# Striving, effort, struggle; striving spiritually or physically against evil; colloquial religious war. >> more

# Centuries-old Arabic term translated literally as "holy war" or "endeavor." In recent years, Muslim fighters, especially in the Arab-Israeli conflict, have used the term almost solely to mean "holy war," often waged through terrorist attacks on civilians. PLO chairman Yasir Arafat caused a stir when he called for a "jihad to liberate Jerusalem," even after renouncing the use of violence against Israel. ...

Fucking moron, do you speak out of your ass? Do you think you are intelligent?

That was an awesome movie, another good movie modern movie dealing with racism (though in a more subtle way than crash) that didnt make it to big is Havoc.

Off subject...sort of

Don't criticize me- I am Muslim. It means "armed struggle" Not holy war. Nobody seems to know this, because the media blew the whole "Jihad" thing out of proportion, and you know how everyone seems to believe the media.

Don't flame outside of B&T either - you knew that.

before we were even born.

My grandfather used words like, "I Jewed him down" and diffrent things like that it is nothing new. Being as it is so old, it is hard for some people to see it as wrong.
